On a roll The Seattle Seahawks were home again this week to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars. After being a huge favorite, the Seahawks came through with a 45-17 win, going to 3-0 on the season for the second time in team history. After a win like this, it’s nice to celebrate, but it’s time to move forward quickly to focus on the next game. Before we move on, though, I need to hand out some game balls. Offense Russell Wilson I know it’s cliche to give it to the starting quarterback, but Russell Wilson gets the offensive game ball. In just a half of action, he managed to throw for a hair over 200 yards and a whopping touchdowns. This was in 1 half of play. This is still a run-first offense despite what anyone of us may believe. The fact that Russell Wilson’s skills as a field general are already so developed is a big perk to this Seattle coaching staff. A game like this proves that he is the key to a Super Bowl run. Russell Wilson had himself a day against the Jags in 30 minutes of work. Defense Bobby Wagner A lot of people could have won this game ball. In my mind, though, Bobby Wagner stood out above the rest. Like usual, he led the team in tackles with 9, had a tackle for loss, a pass deflection and a big interception that was more impressive-looking than when most wide receivers make catches. After finishing second in both tackles and Defensive Rookie of the Year voting, the stellar sophomore middle linebacker is back on track to have a similar season as last year. And if that’s the case, the middle of the field is in good hands. Special Teams Steven Hauschka Well there was nothing spectacular on special teams this week, but one guy did get A LOT of work: Steven Hauschka. 6 extra points and a 21 yard field goal is definitely a full day’s work in a kicker’s world. Seattle Seahawks seize control of the NFC West

Relaxed and grinning, Russell Wilson and Marshawn Lynch watched Tarvaris Jackson and Christine Michael finish the job. The Seattle Seahawks dealt with the Jacksonville Jaguars just like champions should: strike early, strike hard, then get some time for the second string. The Seahawks improved to 3-0 with a 45-17 mauling of the Jaguars. By the end of the third quarter, the backups...

Russell Wilson Lights Up Jaguars

Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson had four touchdowns Sunday against the Jaguars before being pulled in the third quarter.Fantasy Spin:The Seahawks pulled out their starters after going up 31-0 with 11:41 remaining in the third. Wilson threw for 202 yards in the game and hit Sidney Rice and Zach Miller two times apiece for scores.

Seahawks continue to dominate at home

The Seattle Seahawks easily dispatched of the Jacksonville Jaguars at Century Link Field, 45-17. It doesn't sound like it was a close game, but in reality, it was even more of a blowout than that. So much so that Seattle pulled starting quarterback Russell Wilson and other starters out, midway through the third quarter when the Seahawks already led 31-7. The other two scores...

Can the 2013 Seattle Seahawks go undefeated?

’72 Dolphins all over again? If they play all of their remaining games at Century Link, I would have no doubt.  Let’s think about this realistically for a second though because while it’s still early, I’m starting to wonder if the Seattle Seahawks could make the impossible, possible and go undefeated for the 2013 season. With 3 wins against the 49ers, Panthers, and Jaguars...

Seahawks sign an offensive lineman

The Seattle Seahawks have signed free agent offensive offensive lineman Caylin Hauptmann. With Russell Okung on temporary injured reserve,  Seattle had an open roster spot. Wilson leads Seattle's 45-17 rout of Jaguars

Russell Wilson matched his career high with four touchdown passes - two each to Sidney Rice and Zach Miller - and the Seattle Seahawks dominated as expected in a 45-17 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. Seattle improved to 3-0 for the first time since 2006, beginning a stretch of four straight games against the AFC South. And none will likely be easier than overwhelming...

Seahawks player profile: The “Slot” receiver…Doug Baldwin

Heeeee’s Back! Little known, Doug Baldwin, is certainly raising eyebrows once again.  Baldwin, who arrived in Seattle in 2011 as an undrafted free agent is starting the 2013 season off absolutely on fire. Success has not been a stranger to Doug, however.  If you’ll remember in his rookie year, Baldwin came into the league undrafted out of Standford and a virtual unknown to...

Okung placed on short-term IR

The NFL Network's Ian Rapoport is reporting that after left tackle Russell Okung visited a foot specialist this week, he and the team aparently received bad news as he's been placed on injured reserve with a designation to return. That means he's not eligible to return until after 8 weeks, if he's indeed ready. As for now, head coach Pete Carroll says Paul McQuistan...

Seahawks MMQB: Seattle avoids the trap

Seahawks beat Jaguars 45-17 The score seems like a pretty decisive victory but to be honest the game was not even that close.  After jumping out to a two touchdown lead by early in the second quarter the Seahawks played a fairly vanilla game, both offensively and defensively. Zach Miller’s first touchdown of two in the game was anything but vanilla.  When Zach threw what appeared...

5 things to know from Seahawks' 45-17 rout of Jags

Coming off the high of knocking off a heated division rival in Week 2, Seattle coach Pete Carroll wasn't about to take any chances. He pulled his Seahawks together early this past week to make sure they didn't linger in the glow of dominating San Francisco and get caught napping against Jacksonville. ''We thought maybe something big had happened but he let us know...

Seattle Seahawks Three key match-ups week 3

This Could Get Ugly… Let’s just call a spade a spade here. The Jacksonville Jaguars are a god-awful, unmitigated disaster of a football team and barring some sort of unforeseen disaster or the mysterious disappearance of half the Seattle Seahawks roster, they haven’t got a hope in hell on Sunday. They can’t throw the football, or play defense or even run the football anymore...

Maurice Jones-Drew set to go for Jaguars in Seattle

SEATTLE (AP) -- Jacksonville running back Maurice Jones-Drew is active for Sunday's game against Seattle despite an ankle injury, while the Seahawks will be without starting outside linebacker Malcolm Smith due to a hamstring injury. Jones-Drew was hurt last week against Oakland and was listed as questionable for Sunday's game. He's able to go, but tight end Marcedes...

Pete Carroll: Chris Clemons is going to play this week

Chris Clemons, the Seattle Seahawks sack leader the past three seasons, will make his 2013 debut in Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars at CenturyLink Field. Clemons has been out for over eight months after he damaged a ligament and meniscus in his left knee

Jacksonville Jaguars: News & Notes Before the Clash with Seattle

While the trip to Seattle and the west coast adventure by the Jacksonville Jaguars has been a bit of a family reunion for new head coach Gus Bradley, not lost in this mix is the fact that right now, Seattle is the best team in the NFL.Some would argue the Jaguars, not the Browns remain the bottom feeder of the league. A win today is a must for the franchise from Florida. While Seattle...

Week 3 Whiparound

Week 3 of the NFL season provided a good reminder to fantasy football players—certainly one that’s good for me to have every now and again: don’t overthink it.   Examples:   1) “Should I sit Russell Wilson this week? The Seahawks should run all over Jacksonville.”   I dropped Wilson in my rankings based on just that premise, and his yardage was a good indication that...
