Jaguars vs. Texans: Tyson Campbell Ruled Out
USA TODAY Sports

The Jacksonville Jaguars have only three players listed on this week's game status report, with cornerback Tyson Campbell officially being ruled out for the Week 12 game vs. the Houston Texans.

Campbell first suffered the hamstring injury in Week 6 and would go on to miss Week 7 and Week 8. Campbell then returned in Week 10 after the Jaguars' bye week but left after re-injuring the same hamstring.

"Tyson is close, but I don’t want to put him out there just yet. He’s still working through it. He is feeling better, but probably still a ways. He’s closer, but not where we want him to be, so probably going to be down for this game," Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said on Friday.

“Hamstring injuries are different by player. Everybody heals faster or slower than the next guy. You take them individually and our team of doctors and trainers do a good job of getting them back. Especially now that this is kind of his second incident because he’s missed time before. We want to make sure he’s one hundred percent upstairs before we put him back out there.”

Without Campbell, the Jaguars will likely start third-year cornerback Montaric Brown. Brown has started three games for the Jaguars this season after Campbell's previous injuries, with strong showings vs. the New Orleans Saints and the Tennessee Titans in the process.

On the flip side, the Jaguars will have wide receiver Zay Jones (knee) and defensive lineman Roy Robertson-Harris (ankle) listed as questionable, though each played last week with the same injury designations.

Jones, who injured his knee in Week 2 vs. the Kansas City Chiefs, had appeared in just three games this year before the Titans win. Week 1 was the only game where he played the entire four quarters without leaving due to injury, though he did return in Week 2 after a brief absence.

Jones then missed the next two weeks before returning in Week 5 vs. the Buffalo Bills, where he caught five passes for 55 yards and a touchdown before his injury flamed up again in the second half.
