DENVER - NOVEMBER 14: Running back Jamaal Charles of the Kansas City Chiefs warms up prior to facing the Denver Broncos at INVESCO Field at Mile High on November 14, 2010 in Denver, Colorado. The Broncos defeated the Chiefs 49-29. (Photo by Doug Pensinger/Getty Images)
Jamaal Charles was drafted in the third round five years ago to backup Larry Johnson. Johnson’s NFL career quickly faded and now Charles is in a similar position after the Chiefs drafted Knile Davis in the third round of April’s Draft. Charles is not worried about his teammate instead focusing on the positives of new head coach Andy Reid. “This offense might be the best thing that ever happened to me,” Charles said to the Kansas City Star. “I think this offense will get me open. They’re going to throw me the ball more. I think I’ll continue to stack Pro Bowls on Pro Bowls if I can stay healthy.” Charles immediately becomes a huge pass catching threat out of the backfield with the addition of Reid and offensive coordinator Doug Peterson. Previously Charles has a career high of 45 catches in 2010. Charles ran for 1,509 yards last season while catching 35 balls and finding the endzone for seven touchdowns.
