Former Cleveland Browns running back Jamal Lewis admitted to ESPN that he was a longtime patient of Dr. Anthony Galea, who is facing charges for providing PEDs (Performance Enhancement Drugs) to at least 23 professional athletes. It's alleged that Galea smuggled drugs and frequently traveled across America, where he was not licensed to practice, last summer to inject U.S. professional athletes with HGH (Human Growth Hormones) and other illegal substances, according to Canadian court papers that ESPN obtained. The players' named were cleared from the documents and Cleveland was one of the cities Dr. Galea visited last year, according to ESPN's investigative reporter Mark Fainaru-Wada. Lewis stated he was one of Dr. Galea's patients, but said he was never injected with HGH."He is one out of how many other doctors that I have seen," said Lewis, according to ESPN.
