It will be a long shot for JaMarcus Russell to get back on an NFL team anytime soon. But what if it does happen? Who could use him the most? There are plenty of teams out there that could benefit from Russell’s past experiences.Russell struggled with the Raiders, as many quarterbacks have in the past decade. Except for Rich Gannon and Jason Campbell, the Raiders have been a quarterback graveyard. Gannon led the Raiders to the Super Bowl after the 2003 season, and Campbell broke his collarbone, then lost his job to Carson Palmer in 2011.There aren’t any real quality quarterbacks available in free agency at this time, so JaMarcus might just be worth the risk. It’s happened before with Ryan Leaf when Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys gave him a second chance after his flop in San Diego.Jeff George got third and fourth chances with the Redskins and Vikings. Heck, George played 12 seasons in the NFL and a lot of people consider him a bust, which doesn’t make sense to me.If teams can sign Russell to the league minimum, then maybe he can grow and be a quarterback and I am not talking about his hefty waistline.
