James Anderson is the only starting linebacker for the Panthers who has been able to avoid injuries this season. Until Thursday. Anderson left practice early after rolling his ankle during a drill. Panthers coach Ron Rivera said there was "a little bit of concern there," which is why the medical staff wanted to get Anderson into the training room to begin treatment. Rivera predicted later that Anderson would be "fine" for Sunday's game against Tennessee. Anderson was receiving treatment and unavailable for comment. Injuries have crippled the team's linebacker corps, beginning with season-ending injuries to starters and captains Jon Beason and Thomas Davis the first two weeks of the season. Outside linebacker Thomas Williams (neck) joined them on injured reserve this week. The Panthers have started eight linebackers this season.
