Former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison says the media makes too much out of the transition of players from a 3-4 to a 4-3 defense (Credit: AP Photo) Every year during free agency and the draft analysts discuss players moving from a 4-3 to a 3-4 defense or vice versa. Linebackers in a 4-3 defense often have a hard transitioning into a role in the 3-4 defense. One player that moved from a 4-3 defense to a 3-4 defense this year is James Harrison. For the last nine seasons, Harrison played in Pittsburgh’s 3-4 defense. This off-season he signed with the Cincinnati Bengals who run a 4-3 defense. Despite the transition between the two different defense, Harrison believes too much is made from players switching between defensive schemes. “Yes, you all do,” Harrison said, via the Bengals website. “I’m playing SAM, so I’m basically doing the same thing I do in a 3-4 defense. It’s just that I’ll switch where I’m lining up. I’ll be in a 40 or 30, stacked behind a tackle or guard or whatever it may be. And I’ll do my job from there.” Similar to his time in Pittsburgh, Harrison’s job will be to get to the quarterback. Report: Steelers LB Sean Spence Expects To Play In 2013

While many of us are already resigned to fact that Pittsburgh Steelers second-year linebacker Sean Spence will not play in 2013 because of the serious knee injury that he suffered last year during the preseason, the Miami product let be known on Wednesday that we shouldn't be ruling him out just yet. Last year at about this time, we were tracking the conditioning of Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end Ziggy Hood as he was transforming his body in an attempt to get stronger while trimming his body fat in the process. Steelers’ O-Line is Has No Room for Error

They’re young. They’re talented. And they are full of potential but they also have a lot to prove and I’m not talking about the newest Menudo line-up. I am speaking of course about the offensive line for the Pittsburgh Steelers. While many of the faces are familiar in 2013, there are some in different places along the line and some that are now absent altogether. Gone from...

Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley was recently quoted as saying ”as a team our expectation is to get to that confetti game” (apparently superstitions abound within the team and coaching staff that do not wish to jinx their intent by using the term Super Bowl). Todd Haley called shots for an offense on a team that went 8 – 8 his first year and typically...
