Green Bay receiver James Jones has been in Greg Jennings shadow for a while now, but not anymore. Jones quietly put together a great 2012 season, all he did was catch 14 touchdowns, which led the NFL for receivers. So when he says that the Packers receiving corps will survive without Jennings, he’s not blowing smoke. Along with Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb, Jones feels they have the nucleus to have three 1,000 yard receivers. Furthermore, he thinks Jennings departure will give them more opportunities to shine, and step out of Jennings shadow. "I think now it's an opportunity for me, Jordy and Randall," Jones said, via Tom Silverstein of JSOnlie.com "That's why you play the game; you want to play this game to help your team win, just make plays. To lose a guy like Greg, a big-time playmaker like Greg, it opens up the door for us to make plays. "But we've been making plays with Greg there; it's just going to give us more opportunities."...

Why would the Packers sign Aaron Rodgers brother?

It’s that time of year when every “football analyst” comes out of the wood work to give their two cents on where they expect players to fall in the draft. As I was going through the latest mock drafts, I saw one prediction that made my jaw absolutely drop. Vanderbilt’s Jordan Rodgers, little brother to Aaron Rodgers, would be picked up by Green Bay in the 7th round. Say what...

Riggs Does Care About Murtaugh: What the Packers Need to Focus on in the Draft

I hate the Pack. Yes, it’s true, I really dislike the Green Bay Packers. But at the same time, I respect the Pack. Sort of like “buddy cops” “respect” each other in a “buddy cop” film. Like Riggs and Murtaugh from Lethal Weapon, or Turner and Hooch from…well…Turner and Hooch. Separately, Riggs is just some crazy suicidal maniac and Murtaugh...

All Eyes on Jermichael Finley in 2013

Packers TE Jermichael Finley Jermichael Finley carries himself with a swagger; he’s been the “big man on campus” ever since high school. Before committing to the University of Texas to play tight end, Finley was offered a dual scholarship by the University of Arizona, which would have allowed him to play both basketball and football at the D1 level. But as a freshman at Texas...

Tom Crabtree Leaves Packers, Signs With Bucs

Unfortunately for Packers fans, we won’t be seeing Tom Crabtree making any Lambeau Leaps this season. The next time Tom Crabtree catches a touchdown, executes a fake field goal, or makes you laugh out loud with one of his Tweets, it won’t be as a member of the Green Bay Packers. The tight end reportedly has signed a two-year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Packers declined...

Packers President Mark Murphy on Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers

Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers were reunited at the NFL Awards show this winter. Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel beat writer Tom Silverstein caught up with Packers president Mark Murphy on Monday at the NFL Owners meetings in Phoenix. As a favor to bloggers and online media outlets, Murphy talked about two Packers that generate a ton of clicks and web traffic: Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers...

Packers To Meet With DT Johnny Jolly On His Return

Defensive tackle Johnny Jolly has been out of football for three seasons as he battled legal problems and drug abuse. The Green Bay Packers aren't ready to give up on him. Coach Mike McCarthy and general manager Ted Thompson both spoke about Jolly on Sunday from the NFL Annual Meeting in Phoenix. The team recently restructured Jolly's deal, reducing his base salary. That...

He was at the hockey game with HGTV’s Casey Noble. When did she get divorced?” Not sure exactly what...

'Priority As An Organization' For QB Aaron Packers To Sign Rodgers

Packers president Mark Murphy called it a “priority as an organization” to sign Aaron Rodgers to a contract extension. Speaking from the NFL owners meeting in Arizona, Murphy said the Packers are trying to work out a new contract for the team’s most valuable player, according to Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Murphy indicated cash and cap space would...

Elvis Dumervil Should Try The Green Bay Packers' Fax Machines Instead

Something happened on Friday that was unexpected, undeserved, and downright strange. Elvis Dumervil was cut by the Denver Broncos after a fax fiasco left both sides scratching their heads as to what really happened. The bottom line is this: one of the best defensive players in the league is now a free agent. Oh and one more thing: he still gets a nice chunk of change from the Broncos...

Packers Re-Sign LB Robert Francois

Green Bay Packers Would Be Wise to Sign Ahmad Bradshaw

It's safe to say there were plenty of Green Bay Packer fans, who were a bit frustrated last week as both Greg Jennings and Steven Jackson were allowed to sign with other teams, after there were times it appeared both players could be Packers in 2013 before all was said and done. In the end, Green Bay lost out on both. But believe it or not, in both cases the Packers made...

Buccaneers sign tight end Tom Crabtree

Late Friday evening, the Buccaneers signed Green Bay Packers tight end Tom Crabtree.    Confirmed via text with @tcrabtree83 that it’s a done deal. He’s a Buccaneer. Hair, mustache make him look a bit like Bucco Bruce. — Jason Wilde (@jasonjwilde) March 16, 2013   While Crabtree won’t light up the statsheet (eight catches, 203 yards, and three touchdowns in 2012), he is...

Butler hasn't been able to tackle coaching job

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- LeRoy Butler has no idea why he still hasn't been offered a coaching job in the NFL. It's not for a lack of desire or interest. It's not for a lack of knowledge about the league that he spent more than a decade in while winning a Super Bowl and being named to four Pro Bowls. So, then what exactly is keeping the former Green Bay Packers star safety from...
