The quarterback debate has been raging among Chicago Bears fans for weeks: Should they stick with Justin Fields or select Caleb Williams with the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft ? Bears safety Jaquan Brisker recently made it evident where he stands on the issue. The anchor of the secondary liked multiple posts on X advocating for keeping Fields instead of selecting Williams.
One of the posts shows USC players saying "We a team now" after Miller Moss and the Trojans dominated the Holiday Bowl against the Louisville Cardinals. It implied that Caleb Williams was not a team leader for the Trojans. Moss completed 23 of 33 passes for 372 yards and six touchdowns, which sparked a conversation that head coach Lincoln Riley's offensive scheme, not Williams' talent, was the reason for the USC's success.
The other post was captioned "Me to the Justin Fields haters" with a video of New York Jets defensive lineman Michael Clemons saying "F-you" to Cleveland Browns fans.
Brisker isn't the first Bears' defensive back to voice his support for Fields. Cornerback Jaylon Johnson previously shared a similar sentiment during an interview with 670 The Score Fields.
The players in the Bears' locker room clearly view Fields as a leader. Perhaps that support will play into Ryan Poles' decision about what to do with the quarterback decision this offseason.
