With the trade deadline JUST being extended from Tuesday to Thursday, this is an opportune time for guys to take advantage, and jockey for a trade, and one player is already seizing the opportunity. Jared Cook has asked for a trade from the Titans, according to Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean.
Indications are a trade has been requested for #Titans TE Jared Cook. The NFL trade deadline is tomorrow. Cook’s in last year of deal
— Jim Wyatt (@jwyattsports) October 29, 2012
Obviously, this tweet was before the announcement of the deadline extension.
The former Gamecock is currently in his fourth season, and in the last year of his rookie contract. Any team looking for a big target who can stretch the field will most likely be interested. Cook hasn’t produced much in the way of stats in his three-plus seasons, but his big play ability speaks for itself. Cook could thrive in a pass-heavy offense like Dallas’, or on a team like the Redskins that is rather thin at the position. Only time will tell if a deal will take place before Thursday’s 4 p.m. trade deadline.
