Jason Campbell will apparently compete with Cleveland Browns incumbent starter Brandon Weeden, as a source is telling NFL.com that Campbell signed a two-year deal on Tuesday. We suppose it's a little better than the New York Jets bringing in David Garrard to compete with Mark Sanchez. The Browns later confirming the signing. "Jason is an established leader who has started a number of games in this league and has had success," head coach Rob Chudzinski said in a team statement. "He brings us a veteran presence and a good set of physical tools. He played in a similar system when he was in Oakland, and that will help in his transition." This will be the fourth team in eight seasons for the former first round pick of the Redskins (25th overall), and he looks forward to his new role. "I just thought it is a good opportunity, and it's a young football team that's growing and ready to compete," Campbell told the Sun-Times on Tuesday. "I like the things that they are doing here in trying to turn things around and get going in the right direction." Campbell spent last season as Jay Cutler's backup in Chicago. var switchTo5x=true; stLight.options({publisher:''});
