Well this stinks.
I’ve never been the biggest Jay Cutler fan, but I have to say that I’ve gained a newfound respect for him this season as he’s persevered through O-Line problems and receiver issues to lead the Bears, along with Matt Forte, to a 7-3 record.
Unfortunately, Cutler’s season may well be over now that he will have to have surgery to repair a broken thumb.
Here is the latest update on Cutler’s thumb injury, which was first reported by Jay Glazer, via Pro Football Talk:
Jay Glazer of FOX reports that the Bears fear Jay Cutler has a broken thumb. Vaughn McClure of the Chicago Tribune quickly followed up that report to say Cutler indeed does have a broken thumb on his throwing hand.
According to Brad Briggs of the Chicago Tribune, the injury occurred in the fourth quarter after Cutler through an interception and was blocked to the ground.
