Chicago Bears starting QB Jay Cutler is now officially married; multiple sources report. This isn’t really shocking news, more just a formality. Jay Cutler has been engaged to “reality star” (if there is such a thing) Kristin Cavallari for quite a long time. Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler have had a kid for quite a while too. So Jay Cutler getting married is kind of…..well do you care? And this isn’t a knock on Jay Cutler or Kristin Cavallari; it’s just pointing out the TMZification of the media today. The 24/7 news cycle and instant breaking news in the world of Twitter means we need to fill the gaps with something. Even if that something is stuff that has zero relevance to your life. And believe me, the personal lives of Jay Cutler and Kristin Cavallari have as little relevance to your life as possible. Or the personal lives of any celebrities for that matter. And if you’re writing about this and include “I’m so happy for Jay Cutler! Congrats Jay Cutler!” and you’re someone who’s never actually met Jay Cutler…time to find something better to do with your life. Paul M. Banks is the owner of The Sports Bank.net.
