Year in and year out there's talk about how this is the season for either the Dallas Cowboys or Philadelphia Eagles. And year in and year out, each team buys into the media hype and allows their ego to get the best of them. Cowboys nose tackle Jay Ratliff said on Friday that enough is enough; it's time for America's Team to quiet down and stop comparing themselves to the New York Giants, but to use Big Blue's success as motivation.
“Honestly, we don’t have room to talk,” he said. “The Giants are the Super Bowl champions. They’ve won two Super Bowls in the last five years. We just need to be quiet and do our jobs. Nothing else.”
In the same breath, Ratliff did a little talking, saying he expects big things from certain players and continued by praising their defensive backs. But, yeah … they plan on quieting down at some point.
