It didn't take long for new coach Jeff Fisher to set the bar high -- perhaps too high -- in St. Louis.

Rams defensive end Robert Quinn told CBSSports.com that Fisher's goal for the upcoming season is to break the NFL record for sacks in a single season.

The record is currently held by the 1984 Chicago Bears, who dropped opposing quarterbacks 72 times. Fisher, ironically enough, helped make history, as he played cornerback in the Windy City from 1981-85.

If he's aiming to duplicate the success of that ferocious and utterly dominant Bears squad, however, Fisher may be biting off more than he can chew.

Last season, the Rams totaled 39 sacks, tied for 15th in the NFL. Most of them came via Chris Long, who led the club with 13, and James Hall, who finished with six. Quinn, as a rookie, notched five, though he'll need to triple that number if his coach's quota will be met.

St. Louis did spend their first-round pick on highly-touted defensive lineman Michael Brockers, though that was done more so to shore up a lackluster run defense.

It's nice to see Fisher shooting for the stars, trying to get the Rams back on the NFL map after years of basement-dwelling. Maybe he should start a bit smaller; three wins next season would still be an improvement, and is infinitely more attainable.
