According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Green Bay Packers have signed free agent veteran  center Jeff Saturday.  We don’t have the specifics of the contract a this time.

Saturday will be 37 years-old by the time the regular begins, I would think he has a year or two left, before he retires.

Saturday was contemplating whether or not he was going to sign with the Titans or possibly join Peyton Manning with the Denver Broncos.

Report: Packers sign former Colt Saturday

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- After 10 days of inactivity in free agency, the Green Bay Packers have agreed to sign longtime Indianapolis Colts center Jeff Saturday, according to multiple internet reports. Terms of the contract are not yet known. Saturday, a 13-year veteran after going undrafted in 1998, has played his entire career with the Colts. Nearly all of those years were spent snapping...

Jeff Saturday signs with Packers

The news that the longtime Colts center has signed a contract with the Green Bay Packers signifies the end of a long and successful partnership between him and Peyton Manning.

Jeff Saturday signs with Green Bay

For all of those Bronco fans hoping Jeff Saturday would sign in Denver, today is not your day. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel is reporting that Mr. Saturday has signed with the Green Bay Packers. Many, well most, believed that Saturday would undoubtedly sign in Denver due to the presence of Peyton Manning (It still feels weird saying that). However, the Packers are in a desperate...

Jeff Saturday to Green Bay, Ted Ginn Back to San Francisco

While the champion New York Giants have lost more talent than they have acquired, the teams they beat to get their title have not. The Green Bay Packers had lost only one starting player, center Scott Wells. Signing five-time Pro Bowl center Jeff Saturday makes that loss negligible. Details of the deal have yet to be released. At Saturday’s age, he is not a long-term answer. But...

Broncos want to sign Jacob Tamme and Jeff Saturday

According to Jason LaCanfora of the NFL Network, the Denver Broncos would love to sign both center Jeff Saturday and tight end Jacob Tamme, who both played with quarterback Peyton Manning in Indianapolis.  The only problem is that there are other teams that they’ll have to fight off to land both of them. The Seattle Seahawks really want to sign Tamme, after losing John Carlson...

Saturday signed Friday to play Sunday with Packers

I can't really take credit for that headline concept (darn it!). That was more or less an ESPN line. Something to the effect that "Jeff Saturday signed Friday to play Sunday." Well done, es-pen, well done indeed.Anyway, the point of all the above is that veteran, venerable, free agent center Jeff Saturday was signed by the Green Bay Packers yesterday. He will replace...

Schefter: Ochocinco will ‘absolutely’ be back with Pats

After a forgettable first season with the Patriots and an influx of talent — both new and old — at the position, the writing is on the wall for Chad Ochocinco. Right? He’s definitely a goner. Right? Wrong and wrong, says ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter. Appearing on SportsCenter, Schefter says he thinks the receiver formerly known as Johnson will “absolutely” be back with...

Bengals sign BenJarvus Green-Ellis to three-year deal

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Cincinnati Bengals have signed free agent running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis to a three-year deal.  We don’t know the specific numbers of the deal at this time. Now that the Bengals have moved on from Cedric Benson, Green-Ellis will give them a nice veteran presence in their back field. Green-Ellis carried the ball 181 times for 667 yards...

Die-hard fans rejoice as Tebow goes to the Jets

I wrote a mellow piece about Tebow going to the Jets over at TGS. If you want a less biased piece on the news, go there. In all of my years as a Jaguars fan, I haven't ever been as happy ecstatic about the Jaguars not getting a player than I am right now. In case you missed the joyous news, Adam Schefter tweeted that Tim Tebow has been traded to the New York Jets! To say...

Tim Tebow traded to the Jets…again

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Denver Broncos have traded quarterback Tim Tebow to the Jets…again. After a long day and a long hold up, Tebow is finally headed to New York.  The Jets agreed to pay half of the $5 million that was owed to the Broncos. What’s interesting is that he had a choice between the Jets and Jacksonville Jaguars but chose the Jets.  I’m surprised...
