(Eds: APNewsNow. Stands for BC-FBN--Rams Rookie Lessons. Will be updated. With AP Photos.) By R.B. FALLSTROM AP Sports Writer St. Louis Rams rookies Janoris Jenkins and Chris Givens are back on the field, and anxious to produce after serving one-game suspensions. Coach Jeff Fisher said both would play Sunday against the New York Jets, but didn't say whether they'd be starting. They were suspended for violating undisclosed team rules, and neither player said he was surprised by the punishment. Givens, a wide receiver who was a fourth-round pick, had become the first rookie in NFL history with a 50-yard reception in five consecutive games. He started four games at wide receiver while Danny Amendola was out with a collarbone injury, but Amendola returned last week with 11 catches for 102 yards. Jenkins, a cornerback who was a second-round pick, started the first nine games.

Rams might have won the game if they had their two top rookies this week

A league source told ProFootballTalk.com that WR Chris Givens and CB Janoris Jenkins were deactivated Sunday because they violated curfew. Coach Jeff Fisher took a hard line with his rookies. They didn’t dress for the game and were forced to run the stairs at Candlestick Park as punishment. Regardless, we doubt a curfew violation is worth more than a one-game ban. Expect Givens...

Rams WR Danny Amendola Worthy Of The Franchise Tag?

Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio writes that Rams WR Danny Amendola is “performing at a level that will compel the Rams to apply the franchise tag” on him during the offseason. Last year, St Louis placed a second-round tender on Amendola and was able to retain him for a very reasonable salary of $1.972 million. He’s clearly out performed that deal and is deserving a long...

Rams CB Janoris Jenkins, WR Chris Givens Return To Practice, Will Play Sunday

Wide receiver Chris Givens and cornerback Janoris Jenkins were out of coach Jeff Fisher’s doghouse and back on the practice field Wednesday at Rams Park. “They’ve rejoined the program and the issues are behind them, been addressed, and they’re back on the practice field,” Fisher said. But he didn’t commit to saying the two would return to the starting lineup this week against...

Bad taste left by tie will stay with Rams

ST. LOUIS Smacking lips with your sister can sting for a few moments. Meanwhile, tying in the NFL can leave a foul taste for 38 years. Meet Otis Armstrong. He was a Denver Broncos running back from 1973 to 80. On Sept. 22, 1974, he was part of the NFLs first regular-season overtime tie when Denver and the Pittsburgh Steelers slugged each other before leaving Mile High Stadium even...

Rams C Scott Wells' Status This Week Still Unknown

Scott Wells practiced on Wednesday, but the St. Louis Rams center might not be back in action this week against the New York Jets. Nevertheless, head coach Jeff Fisher sounded a positive note about the progress of his veteran lineman when speaking to the media after practice. "He's coming along well," Fisher said of Wells. "He did a little bit more." As...

Wayne Hunter not surprised about the Jets’ drama

Former New York Jets and current St. Louis Rams tackle Wayne Hunter isn’t surprised at all at the drama that’s followed his former team. The one thing that always bothered him was how his teammates would throw one another under the bus, the way they did with calling Tim Tebow a terrible quarterback. “I got sick of guys doing that,” Hunter said. “I spoke about that. That...

Brandon Marshall did his best Ryan Franklin impression today

This offseason, it was strongly rumored that the Rams were set to acquire WR Brandon Marshall.  In retrospect, it would have been wise; Marshall is on pace to have the best year of his career and a deep threat paired with Danny Amendola would make any man smile.  Especially Sam Bradford.  And let’s be honest, [...]

Rams' Schottenheimer set to face former team

(Eds: Adds AP Photo.) Brian Schottenheimer is trying to treat the St. Louis Rams' game against his former team, the New York Jets, this weekend as just another game. ''I want to win because it's the next game and we need to get to four wins,'' the Rams' offensive coordinator said. ''It's fun to compete against your friends, but (the games...

New York Jets at St. Louis Rams: Three Bold Predictions

Neither the Jets nor the Rams have been impressive of late. It’s been over a month since either team has earned a win. On paper, both teams leave a lot to be desired but there are few factors that will sway the odds in the Rams’ favor when New York travels to St. Louis. Here are my three bold predictions for the game.1. The Jets’ will help St. Louis get an easy win.On the stat...

St. Louis Rams: Week 11 NFL Power Rankings (#20)

Last week: 20 (+1) Record: 3-5-1 On a bye…oh wait…the Rams played last week? But their record didn’t change, so they couldn’t have played right? It wouldn’t be worth busting your ass for 75 minutes if your record didn’t change afterwards right? **** ties. Studs QB Sam Bradford: 26 of 39 for 275 yards and 2 touchdowns, 3 throw aways, 3 batted passes, 2 spikes, 1 hit as...

Should there be tie games in professional sports? (Video)

Inspired by the St. Louis Rams and San Francisco 49ers playing to a 24-24 tie game during Week 10 of the NFL Season, Chad M and Emily Nerland debate whether ties should exist in professional sports.

New York Jets at St. Louis Rams: Week 11 NFL Pick

New York Jets (3-6) at St. Louis Rams (3-5) Someone check me for a concussion because I really like the Jets this week. The Jets are one of two teams I have not picked to cover once this year, along with the Bengals. Yes, their fans hate me. It may seem weird that this is the week I’m going with the Jets because they seem to be at their lowest point, given all that’s happened...
