GREEN BAY, Wis. -- The outlook isn't good for Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings to be ready to play Thursday night. Jennings was officially listed as doubtful for the game against the Chicago Bears. The two-time Pro Bowl selection suffered a groin injury on the final drive of Green Bay's Week 1 loss to the 49ers on Sunday. He has been unable to participate in either practice this week as the team prepares for its division rival on a very short turnaround between games. "Greg Jennings went through a test today," coach Mike McCarthy said Wednesday. "I actually haven't had a chance to talk to Greg or (head athletic trainer) Pepper (Burruss), but ... we have him as doubtful." When asked what was keeping Jennings from being listed as out for the game, McCarthy said it was part of the protocol when an injured player is going through rehabilitation. "Today was the test," McCarthy added. "He ran yesterday, felt good today, so that was the information we were looking for. He did go through the testing part today. We'll see how the test goes. They put him through everything. Testing is a number of different drills, then his endurance through the drills. "I'll get the evaluation, and then, frankly, tomorrow (Thursday) will be the deciding factor. He's played a lot of football for us, his whole time with myself as the coach. I'll trust the communication between Greg and the medical staff. That's when the decision will be made." Jennings had five catches for 34 yards in the Packers' season-opening loss before exiting. Last season, Jennings was very productive against the Bears in Week 3 at Chicago, with nine catches for 119 yards. "Greg Jennings is a very good football player," McCarthy said. "He has played well against the Bears. But his route running and his ability to catch the football and make the first guy miss is unique." Follow Paul Imig on Twitter.
