The Victory Formation:
Oh, things are not well down in Jerry World. The team missed the playoffs, again. They’ve already axed Defensive Coordinator Rob Ryan, who has surprisingly been out of work for more than five minutes (albeit only slightly), but may or may not be signing with the Rams. Dallas also canned Runningbacks Coach Skip Peete, and today reports have surfaced that Jerry Jones may be trying to force an Offensive Coordinator on Head Coach Jason Garrett, stripping him of his playcalling duties. And if those reports are right, it’s might not be just any old Offensive Coordinator. Jones is reportedly talking with former University of Arkansas Head Coach Houston Nutt for what is being called an “undetermined position on the Cowboys’ staff.” Let’s skip over the fact that Houston Nutt has absolutely no NFL experience, on any level, ever. Has he ever actually been a good college coach? I suppose a 10-win season at Arkansas in 2006, capped off by a Capital One Bowl loss to Wisconsin might qualify, but otherwise? There’s whole lot of mediocrity (or worse) on Nutt’s career coaching record. This rumor just smacks of Jerry Jones flexing his muscles, shaking things up and trying to bring in “his guys” – especially someone with such [...]

If Jerry Jones were to come out and fire himself as the general manager of the Dallas Cowboys, I believe these would be the words of the pompous owner. “Jerry Jones the owner, must fire Jerry Jones the GM.”
He refused to talk about the firing of coaches but Jones, Jason Garrett, Tony Romo and other members of the Dallas Cowboys are furious at the results of the 2012 NFL season...

The Dallas Cowboys have added another coach to their defensive staff. After adding Monte Kiffin as their new defensive coordinator the Cowboys have added Rod Marinelli to be their defensive line coach.
Marinelli served as the defensive coordinator for the Chicago Bears last season. Under Marinelli the Bears were a top-five defense and ranked first or second in many defensive statistics...
Jason Garrett is uncomfortable, just like his boss Jerry Jones promised he would be. All around him heads have been rolling and changes coming. Skip Peete, running backs coach, gone. Defensive coordinator Rob Ryan, gone. His own brother John, tight ends coach, all but gone. Rumor has it his play calling duties will soon be…you got it.
How wistfully must young Garrett look...

The Dallas Cowboys are interviewing former Arkansas and Ole Miss head coach Houston Nutt for one of their openings on the offensive side of the ball, sources told FoxSportsSouthwest.com. Nutt has been seeking employment in the NFL and it makes sense that he would start by talking to his longtime friend Jerry Jones.
Nutt would likely end up as tight ends coach, although Jason Garrett...
The Dallas Cowboys announced Friday night that they hired Rod Marinelli as their defensive line coach. Marinelli will work under new defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin, who took over for the fired Rob Ryan. Marinelli replaces Brian Baker, whom the Bears fired after the regular season. Marinelli was the Chicago Bears defensive coordinator since 2010. Before that, he was the Detroit...
The Cowboys fired a cutting-edge defensive coordinator in Rob Ryan over philosophical differences. Ryan's unorthodox methods often left the players confused and out of position.
The hiring of the Monte Kiffin, 72, is an effort by the Cowboys to move away from exotic looks and two-man pass rushes and get back to basic, sound defense.
But in doing so, did they swing the pendulum...
