Found April 26, 2013 on Silver and BlueBlood:
Who? Me??? With the 31st pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys take (drum roll)…Travis Frederick, Wisconsin. Huh? 31st pick? Who? Jerry Jones warned his Dallas Cowboys fan base. If he moved in any direction in the first round of the 2013 NFL draft, it would be backwards. He was as good as his word as he traded the 18th pick in the 2013 NFL draft to a much better team than his, the San Francisco 49ers, last year’s NFC Super Bowl representative. Sitting at number 31, Jones and his brain trust (I use that phrase cautiously and reluctantly) selected the lumberjack-looking center out of Wisconcin, Travis Frederick. Certainly, the Cowboys needed to address the interior line. They needed someone tough and tough-minded protecting Romo from the thing that gives him the most trouble, a pass rush right up the middle. They needed someone to help open a gap in the defense wide enough for DeMarco Murray to slip through. (The Cowboys were 31st in rushing yards last season.) No one is argu...

Cowboys Draft C/OG Travis Frederick with #31 Pick

Well, Jerry Jones finds a way to ruin Cowboys Nation hopes for 2013. We traded from #18 to #31 to draft C/OG Travis Frederick, who is widely consider to be a 3rd round talent. He better start, and he better bump one of the other losers on the line that can’t play. He better be replacing Bernadeau or Costa. Period. You don’t do all this stupidity to draft a backup offensive lineman...

Are the Dallas Cowboys planning the unexpected?? An actual high scoring Offense....

The Dallas Cowboys made some surprise picks in this years draft for sure. Everyone thought Defense was the going to rule the board but it was the opposite for the Dallas Cowboys. I am a Cowboy fan and the 31st pick gave them flexibility they didn’t have last year and as I have discussed before also gets them younger at skilled positions. What a great choice to have Whitten help...

Jerry Jones: Players would've traded up for went in top 10

IRVING, Texas The Dallas Cowboys needed to upgrade their offensive line during the offseason and the first step in that direction came Thursday when they spent their first-round draft pick on Wisconsin center Travis Frederick. An offensive linemen isn't a flashy pick but Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones says Frederick can make a bigger impact than some might think...

Dez Bryant says Tyrann Mathieu is the best player in the draft

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant told the Twitter world today that he believes LSU cornerback Tyrann Mathieu is the best player in this year’s NFL draft. A lot of great players in this draft but @mathieu_era is the best player in the draft.. You can say whatever you want about him #gamechanger — Dez Bryant (@DezBryant) April 25, 2013 While I really like Mathieu, he...

Cowboys Draft CB B.W. Webb #114, 4th Round

The Cowboys draft B.W. Webb, CB, William & Mary with the #114 of the 4th round. Depth was a need and adding Webb gives us another guy to fill in the departed Mike Jenkins.

Defending the Cowboys selection of Travis Frederick

One of the most controversial selections in the 2013 NFL draft was the Dallas Cowboys drafting center Travis Frederick at 31. Jerry Jones is already being compared to the NFL’s new Al Davis, but I understand the pick. Every fan or analyst that says they could have drafted Frederick in the latter rounds might be right, but they might also be wrong. After Eric Fisher, Luke Joeckel...

Cowboys take Baylor WR Terrance Williams in the 3rd round

The Dallas Cowboys added some talent to their receiving core by drafting Baylor wide receiver Terrance Williams in the third round of the NFL draft. Williams recorded 97 receptions, 1,832 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2012 for the Bears.   Need NFL Tickets? Dallas WR Dez Bryant calls Tyrann Mathieu ‘the best player in the draft’

At least one person sees Tyrann Mathieu as the very best player in the entire 2013 NFL Draft, and that's Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant.

and with the 74th overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft the Dallas Cowboys select…

Terrance Williams                           2013 NFL Draft Round 2 Pick 74     From 2008 to 2011, Williams had 105 receptions for 1,502 yards with 15 touchdowns. Williams was also a Biletnikoff Award finalist for 2011. In 2012, he led the nation with 1,832 receiving yards. He is big and fast and will be a great compliment to Dez Bryant.

Draft Day: Final Mock Predictions and Thoughts

Fellow die hard fans, this is the day we have all been waiting for, NFL Draft day is our offseason Super Bowl. All the mock drafts are are done, with all the rumors true or false coming to a conclusion this evening. For the cap strapped Cowboys this is an important draft, and could help Coach Garrett keep his job with the correct impact players or it could bring his tenure closer...

Cowboys ‘flex’ interior muscle

The excitement surrounding the Dallas Cowboys’ first-round draft choice had to wait … and wait … until late in the evening after the team traded down, sending the 18th pick to San Francisco for the 49ers’ first- and third-round picks.

Cowboys take South Carolina LB with final pick

IRVING, Texas (AP) -- The Dallas Cowboys have taken South Carolina linebacker DeVonte Holloman in the sixth round of the NFL draft. The Cowboys took Holloman with the 185th overall selection Saturday, their last pick of the draft. Dallas traded its seventh-round choice to Miami last year. Holloman started more games at strong safety than linebacker in four years with the Gamecocks...

Possible 2nd-3rd Round Draft Targets

Well now that we have let the surprise pick of C/OG Travis Frederick pick settle in, its time to move onward to the 2nd-3rd rounds which begin 5:30 (CST) The Frederick pick did address some offensive line issues, so we’ll see how it pans out. I will say this, of the players the Cowboys brought in for pre-draft visits, Frederick was the last one for the National visits, everyone...

Draft Diary Of An NFL Superfan: Four Days Of The 2013 NFL Draft

Day 1: Predraft For someone who loves football as much as I do I ‘m ashamed to admit that I’ve never been to a Super Bowl, the Pro Football Hall of Fame or the NFL Draft. Sure, I’ve followed my beloved Dallas Cowboys across the nation with varying degrees of success and spend most of my fall weekends in my basement basking in the glow of glorious football. Since I’m not getting...

2013 NFL Draft: Day 2 Morning Thoughts (Travis Frederick Edition)

One of my favorite movies of all time is "Raiders of the Lost Ark". I think it is a fantastic adventure film starring the great Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones and his quest to find the ark of the covenant. There is a particular scene when they are trying to pinpoint the exact location of the ark that he is worried that his rival, Belloq, has the same secret coordinates...
