New York Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of 2012 and general manager Jerry Reese made it clear during today’s pre-draft press conference that they plan on addressing his situation. “There’s been a little bit of talk” about a contract extension for Osi Umenyiora. “It’s on our plate,” said Reese per Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News. I could see them letting him walk in free agency after this season, given his age and health of his body.  He underwent knee surgery in training camp of last season to take care of an issue he was having and he’s still dealing with a lingering hip problem as far as I know.

Giants DE Justin Tuck Blames Injuries On Poor Offseason Preparation

Giants defensive end Justin Tuck believes there is some validity to his suspicion he wasn’t as physically prepared as he needed to be entering last season and he paid for it according to Paul Schwartz of the New York Post. The Giants defensive end endured an injury-filled 2011 season, battling through neck and groin problems that forced him to miss games and a shoulder issue that...

Giants QB Manning looks forward to 2012, and SNL

With the exception of a Super Bowl ring ceremony and a trip to White House, Eli Manning has put his second championship season behind him. For the two-time Super Bowl MVP, that means looking for a third receiver to replace Mario Manningham, finding a backup running...

New York Giants Will Continue Trend Of Starting Strong

The New York Giants will set out to defend their Super Bowl championship this fall, and as the just-released NFL schedule shows, it appears that Tom Coughlin’s team will have a chance to ease into the season.   After opening against Dallas on Opening Night, New York’s next four opponents all missed the playoffs in 2011 (with a combined 22-42 record).  On paper it certainly...

Victor Cruz is still dreaming of a lucrative new contract, but he promises that he won't hold out to get it. Mocking it Up: 2012 Giants Draft

by Adam Carman, BGB Assistant Editor Let me preface this by saying that I am in no way a draft expert. In fact, if Jerry Reese deliberately set out to draft all the people I didn't pick/have never heard of, he couldn't have done a more complete job these past few seasons. In the last five years I have picked exactly two draft picks, only one of them number one (Hakeem...
