There’s no doubt that New York Giants defensive end Justin Tuck wasn’t the same player this past season that he has been in previous seasons. Giants’ general manager Jerry Reese told the media on Saturday that he recently sat down with Tuck and talked with him about stepping his game up. “Obviously, Justin hasn’t played as well as we think he can play and what kind of player he has shown to be in the past,” Reese said, per Jenny Vrentas of the Newark Star-Ledger. “And he knows that. Justin and I recently had a really long conversation and talked about some of those things, and he really wants to get back to the old Justin Tuck and be the player that we know him to be.” While watching Tuck in 2012, it was clear to me that he lacked the passion that he’s had in the past.  We’ll have to see if he turns things around in 2013.   Need NFL Tickets? var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement('script'); ref = document.getElementsByTagName('script...

Giants’ Rueben Randle must have a big year in 2013

Wide receivers have not been an issue for the New York Giants to develop over the last couple of seasons with Victor Cruz, Hakeem Nicks, Domenik Hixon, Mario Manningham, Ramses Barden, Steve Smith, etc… The Giants would lose a few productive receivers season after season and a new crop would take their place without any hiccups, but this can’t last forever if your wide receivers aren’t dev...

Tom Coughlin won’t rule out more cuts for the Giants

During his press conference at the NFL Scouting Combine today, New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin didn’t rule out anymore possible cap-casualties for his team. “I wouldn’t be surprised by anything. Tom Coughlin doesn’t want to talk retirement: “I don’t even know how a young man would come to that statement”

Tom Coughlin is a NFL lifer; he’s not going anywhere or going to do anything else. When cornerback Terrell Thomas said he thought this would be Coughlin’s last year, it raised some eyebrows. However, realistically it never really seemed valid. When asked, Coughlin shrugged off the talk as he does most things he finds relatively unimportant. “I don’t even know how a young...
