According to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, the Jets and first round pick Sheldon Richardson have agreed to terms on a contract.  They’re still working on signing fellow first-rounder Dee Milliner. Now that Sheldon Richardson has agreed to terms and will show up for camp tomorrow, Dee Milliner is the only Jets draft pick without a deal — Manish Mehta (@MMehtaNYDN) July 25, 2013   Need NFL Tickets? Not many fans in attendance at the Jets’ training camp (Photo)

Now that Tim Tebow is no longer around, it looks like Jets fans don’t plan on wasting their time to attend training camp.  This is really sad. Crowd at Jets camp just as big as last year with Tebow, no? (Ira from Staten Island here, tho – lower left). pic.twitter.com/2o1xYopw7m — Bob Glauber (@BobGlauber) July 26, 2013 Need NFL Tickets? New York Jets Training Camp Battles – Cornerback Edition

As training camp is officially in full swing, the theme this year under new general manager John Idzik seems to be “competition.” Recently in a press conference Rex Ryan said the only guaranteed starters are Antonio Cromartie, David Harris, D’Brickashaw Ferguson, and Nick Mangold (not cool leaving Muhammad Wilkerson out Rex, not cool at all). After Antonio Cromartie, the Jets...

Man whose ass was involved in the ‘Butt Fumble’ disputes retirement reports (video)

Reports on Thursday indicated that Brandon Moore, the former New York Jets guard whose hind-end was made famous by the infamous “Butt Fumble” play that involved his ass and quarterback Mark Sanchez’s face, was expected to retire after a successful 10-year NFL career. Subsequent reports has Moore refuting the original report. ESPN New York’s Rich [...]The post Man whose ass...

Rex Ryan “I Don’t Give a S*** About Last Year”

It looks like the bright lights of the New York media are starting to heat up not only Rex Ryan’s seat but his temper as well. In Ryan’s first two seasons in New York he reached the AFC championship. He has yet to have a winning season since then. The Jets haven’t given fans much to be excited about in the last couple of seasons and I’m sure Rex Ryan is tired of the being...

Sanchez leads Jets' first team

Mark Sanchez and Geno Smith both had solid performances on the first day of training camp as they compete to be the New York Jets' starting quarterback. Sanchez led the first-team offense Friday, and it is expected the two will alternate throughout camp - as they did during offseason practices. Sanchez is trying to keep his job as he enters his fifth season, while Smith is hoping...

Report: Jets lose Aaron Berry to a torn ACL

According to Newsday, Jets cornerback Aaron Berry suffered a torn ACL today and will miss the entire 2013 season. The cornerback — who expected to see ample playing time this season — suffered a torn ACL on the Jets’ first day of training camp. The news was first reported by Central Pennsylvania TV station ABC27. Berry, a Pitt product,  went down after colliding with receiver...

There’s Something Familiar About 2013 New York Jets

In 2010, as the New York Jets were getting started on the most entertaining season of Hard Knocks of all-time, Rex Ryan stood in front of his team and said that the best place for a team to be is up high, where the expectations are great. The year before, the Jets had flown under the radar, surprised a ton of people, and nearly made the Super Bowl, in large part because of Rex Ryan...

For the price of a Vernon Gholston jersey, Braylon Edwards will prove to be a wise signing by the New York Jets

Currently undergoing a physical, free agent Braylon Edwards is reportedly on the cusp of returning to the New York Jets. Claimed by New York off waivers after getting clipped by the Seattle Seahawks last December, Jets general manager John Idzik must ink the 30-year-old Edwards because he neglected to address the wide receiver position during April’s draft. Although the 2007 All...

Mornhinweg heaps praise on Geno Smith, says it’s ‘up to him’

Geno Smith may have experienced his fair share of growing pains during the offseason but don't be surprised if the former West Virginia star wins the Jets quarterback competition against incumbent Mark Sanchez that begins in earnest on Friday in Cortland. Smith admittedly has a large learning curve but he won't have to master all the components of being an NFL quarterback...

Brandon Moore not ready to call it quits yet

DENISBrandon Moore entered free agency in March as one of the top offensive linemen available, but NFL training camps have kicked off this week, and Moore is still without a team.ESPN contributor Adam Caplan reported early Thursday morning that the former New York Jets guard "is expected to retire" after testing the market to no avail. However, Moore later disputed...

Rex Ryan not worried about "lame-duck" status

Jets head coach Rex Ryan is entering a contract year. The New York Jets have not offered up an extension, instead opting to give their coach the last year of his contract to convince them that he’s still the man for the job. If, however, the Jets get off to a rough start, Ryan will quickly inherit the “lame-duck” status, something that he’s not too concerned about. ...
