Fireman Ed has retired from being the New York Jets unofficial team mascot. That duty now belongs to Brandon Moore’s backside. Unfortunately, the key ingredient in Mark Sanchez’s butt fumble cannot lead the Jets’ fans in their favorite cheers of J-E-T-S JETS!JETS!JETS! The organization is taking every precaution to make sure their fans can continue this game time tradition but with a new twist. The Jets sent out a notice to their season ticket holders explaining how the organization will make sure that they stadium doesn’t screw up the spelling of the team name. To make things easy, they have assigned one letter to each quadrant of MetLife Stadium: Genius, right? Probably not. We don’t think this group can follow the directions as the team desires. We fully expect everyone to just go ahead and spell Jets as they normally would. This kind of strategic planning is way above their heads and too high brow. After all, these fans actually believed Sanchez was going to become a great starter. H/T @Jayyyson
