Well the Jets finally did it. They benched Mark Sanchez and put in Tim Teb……I mean Greg McElroy. The one day that the Jets put Tim Tebow on the injured list, they decide to bench Sanchez. There are a few factors why the Jets benched Sanchez today. One reason is that the Jets have no faith in Tebow. The main reason the Jets signed the Tebow was to sell tickets and PSL’s. Tim Tebow has flawed quarterback mechanics, but he does have a knack for winning games and it seems the Jets don’t like to win games. Another reason is Tebow’s contact.Tebow originally signed a 5 year $33 million contract with the Jets that was incentive based. One incentive would lead his contract to increase to $11.25 million more if  he plays at least 55% of the snaps two of his first three seasons. The Jets are very aware of this so that is why New York Jets fans did not see a lot of Tebow. Not sure if it was Fireman Ed’s resignation as the superfan (like anyone cared), or that the Jets were looking to see McElroy’s potential, but the benching of Sanchez makes it interesting at least for Jets fans to see what the direction the team will go in moving forward. Who knows if McElory  keeps on playing like he did in his first drive  that ended up with a touchdown pass we might see Sanchez and Tebow on the sideline together.
