Down and Distance:
Will Rex Ryan and the New York Jets use quarterback Tim Tebow at running back this weekend against the New England Patriots? (Credit: AP Photo)
It is no secret that the New York Jets organization has been through some struggles. The loss of crucial players such as Darrelle Revis to injury, the dysfunction between players and coaches and the issues at quarterback, have not only hurt them on the field, but off the field as well.
During the summer, around the nation and especially in New York, the media attention was focused on the New York Jets after acquiring former Denver quarterback, Tim Tebow. Even though Jets head coach, Rex Ryan, made it very clear that it was not the intention, there was speculation that starting quarterback Mark Sanchez may lose his job.
With week seven and a crucial game against a division rival approaching, there is a new thought in Jets country, what to do with Tebow? In an article on USAtoday.com, Ryan was quoted saying “The thing about Tim, with him being a football player like we’ve always talked about, by playing quarterback he knows all the positions. So can we plug him in at running back? Can we plug him in at tight end? I think the answer is yes.”
While Tebow has lined up at running back, it was merely for blocking purposes. Ryan believes that he can start any position and I’m sure Tebow fans would love to see more of him on the field. Sunday they take the field against the New England Patriots and we will see how this Tim Tebow is.
Based on what we’ve seen of Tim Tebow, I’m positive he can play running back. Although they are sitting at the top of the AFC East with New England, they are sitting at 3-3 on the season. This game against the New England Patriots is an important one. If Tebow at running back can get the team a win then, Rex Ryan, you gotta do what you gotta do.

How there hasn’t been more of a run on Tim Tebow Halloween costumes is crazy. You would think Tebow bros everywhere would be all over this costume. It’s simple, relatively cheap and allows them to pay homage to their godly hero. There are a few we could scrounge up but this post is a call to action more than anything. When you’re out at Halloween parties or bars and you see...

The man responsible for launching the 'Tebowing' craze will now be the only one who is able to profit from it now as well.
Today Deadspin.com put out an article that said “Tebowing” is now officially the word of Ex-Florida Gator Tim Tebow. Word trickles out of Jets practice that Tim Tebow is now, finally, the legal owner of the term “Tebowing.” This doesn’t mean you or I can’t continue to talk about or write about Tebow. It just means we can’t profit off of it.According to ESPN’s Jane...
New York Jets back up quarterback Tim Tebow is currently in the process of trademarking the phrase “tebowing.”Newsday first reported that one of seven trademarks Tebow filed for, using the term, was published for opposition Oct. 9. After a 30-day period granted in case there are objections, Tebow will be closer to being an owner of the mark.“In the seven filings, Tebow says...
Tim Tebow Trademarks “Tebowing” Pose -
A short time ago, Tim Tebow got down on one knee and prayed. That move led to a craze, whose name has now been trademarked. Yes, it’s true, Tebow has trademarked the prayer pose, dubbed “Tebowing” by observers. He apparently doesn’t want to make money off of it, but rather wants to make sure that its integrity is protected. “I...
Tim Tebow was the first to "Tebow," and now he holds the rights to the post-touchdown move.
The Jets' quarterback has yet to find the end zone this season, but he has officially trademarked "Tebowing," according to ESPN.
"I know it was something that was cool for me in the past, but it's not something I do as 'Tebowing,'" Tebow said...
New York Jets backup quarterback Tim Tebow has a trademark on "Tebowing. " The saying, which refers to the prayer-like, end-zone pose that Tebow does after scoring a touchdown, is now owned by Tebow, who won the rights to it in a battle with two fans. "I know it was something that was cool for me in the past, but it's not something I do as 'Tebowing,'...
New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan has never been one to mince words, but they are usually of the confident variety. Ryan recently made a humbling analysis of himself, and it’s quite shocking, to be honest. Ryan admitted to the Newark Star Ledger that New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is a better coach than he is.
“If it’s just between Belichick in me, he’s...
BART SCOTT BREAKS SILENCE TO SPEAK ON PATRIOTS WEEK. FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- When does Rex Ryan start thinking about the New England Patriots?"I never stop not thinking about the Patriots," he said Tuesday. And nor should he stop. Since Ryan has been in New York, "That Team Up North" has won the AFC East every year. For a coach that's as bragadocious as Ryan...
Expect the unexpected with Tim Tebow making his first trip to Foxboro as a member of the New York Jets.
Since Rex Ryan entered Florham Park declaring that he wasn’t here to kiss Bill Belichick rings, the Patriots have become the Jets favorite measuring stick. Knowing that beating them validates all of the hard work, while providing instant credibility around the league. That winning more regular season games over the entire season than New England allows for a more high level entry...
Welcome back Rex. And welcome backs Rex's mouth. They both predict victory over the Patriots. The Bills hope to the Titans at home.
Another date with the New England Patriots has New York Jets coach Rex Ryan running his mouth.
Nothing unusual in that.
The fact his banged-up squad has the same record as New England, however, may be a bit more odd.
Two of the four AFC East teams knotted at 3-3 continue their tense rivalry Sunday when the Patriots host the Jets.

"That's My Boy" is the name of last summer's (dreadful) Adam Sandler/Andy Samberg move. It starred current New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan as a HARDCORE PATRIOTS FAN.Including a Bill Belichick bobblehead on his desk.I commend him for it. When Rex Ryan left his old job as the Baltimore Ravens' defensive coordinator and signed on as head coach of the New York...
There's something fishy going on between the Patriots and Jets leading up to their game this coming Sunday. I thought this matchup was a heated rivalry?Jets personel can't keep themselves from prainsing the Patriots. Between Antonio Cromartie calling us "America's team", Rex Ryan claiming BB is a better coach than him, and so on this just doesn't feel right...
