Jets Fear WR Santonio Holmes Will Miss Rest Of The Season -
The Jets know that Santonio Holmes, who sustained a non-contact foot injury on Sunday, won’t play in Week 5 against the Texans. When speaking to the media Monday, Rex Ryan held out hope that Holmes might only miss a few weeks. But according to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, the “feeling in the organization” is that Holmes could be done for the year The feeling following Holmes’ injury was similar to that of the injury Darrelle Revis suffered: he looked done for the year when he fell to the ground in pain. It was somewhat surprising when the Jets classified Holmes’ injury as a foot problem, especially when it appeared during the play that he suffered a knee injury without making contact with a 49ers player. Holmes missing a few weeks would be very bad for the Jets. Holmes missing the entire season would be a crippling blow. He and Revis are the two primary playmakers for a Jets team that’s already thin in that area and will only gets worse if Holmes is done for the year.
