Mike Tannenbaum often stays awake in the middle of the night as his mind races.
As the New York Jets' general manager, there's always plenty to think about - especially when the pressure's on to put together the team that finally returns the franchise to the Super Bowl.
Tannenbaum has become a common target of impatient Jets fans, wondering when - or if - he will address some of the team's biggest needs with the start of the regular season just a few weeks away.
In a sit-down with The Associated Press, Tannenbaum says he puts the most pressure on himself, and that he's the franchise's most competitive person. He also laughs at the notion that he might not be doing enough to put together a winning team.

The New York Jets have hit rock bottom as an offensive unit. They can’t possibly play worse than they did against the Cincinnati Bengals and New York Giants. Their home pre-season game against Carolina needs to begin a road to improvement. Carolina has an average defense at best, so it will be good opportunity to build a little confidence and momentum heading into the regular...
Mike Donnelly is back with his weekly Stock Watch, today breaking down the AFC East. Make sure to give Mike a follow on Twitter and check out our new partner Night Out -
After watching the Jets this offseason, I’ve decided I can’t do an All-Jets stock watch this week. I’m still waiting for a response from Mike Tannenbaum after the letter I wrote to him the other day, so...
The New York Jets lost their annual preseason tilt with the New York Giants on Saturday, 26-3. There weren't many bright spots, though a few did shine through an otherwise dreadful performance. The Jets offense continues to struggle, vanilla or not. The defense is in midseason form, but will they be stuck cleaning up the mess once again this year?
What We Learned from New...
Two preseason games into the reign of Tony Sparano as offensive coordinator, it doesn't seem like much had changed on the field. The Jets offense is still stuck in reverse, merely a place keeper between defensive possessions. The nature of defense is surrendering points, but last season's offense made playing 60 minutes of defense seem like a much safer venture. The offensive...
This was certainly a tough article to write. There wasn’t a whole lot for Jets fans to smile about after their 26-3 demolition at the hands of their crosstown rival Giants. But here were the rays of light in what was an otherwise cloudy performance by Gang Green in their second preseason contest.

There is little doubt that the New York sports media loves a good story. Tim Tebow, for better or worse, seems to provide plenty of fodder for the Big Apple's media outlets to discuss. The biggest Tebow discussion revolves around his chances of overtaking incumbent Mark Sanchez's starting role as Jets quarterback. If you are of the belief that Tebow has no shot of starting...
I completed the first of several fantasy football drafts last night and some of my competition is probably snickering into their fists right about now. Some of you reading this article may be chuckling shortly as well when you learn that I did indeed draft New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow. Before you discount Tebow as a pick entirely, and probably my opinion as well, allow me to...
After an appropriate amount of time to decompress after last night’s horror show, TOJ is ready to break down the Jets second pre-season game against the Giants. We start with an open letter to Mike Tannenbaum from Mike Donnelly -
Dear Mike Tannenbaum,
Hey Mike, I just wanted to send you this letter because I have some real concerns about the job you’ve done lately with my beloved...
Mark Sanchez and the first-string offense for the New York Jets continued to struggle in a 26-3 loss to the New York Giants in the annual MetLife Bowl.
The Jets have yet to score a touchdown in two complete preseason outings.
Sanchez played the entire first half, throwing for 59 yards.
Along with being sacked three times, Sanchez had no touchdowns and threw one costly interception...
Just in case you are a Jet fan and do not want to be debby downer. Here is something you can show people or say to people as a backing point to why you think the Jets (not the Jets offense mind you) will not suck.

2. Ben Roethlischeesburger
3. Ryan Tannehill
4. Alex Smith
5. Matt Schaub
6. Andrew Luck
7. Tom Brady

By now we are fairly sure that most of the Giants will be offering no apologies for throwing Prince Amukamara into a cold tub. While Tom Coughlin and several players have expressed regret and frustration over the video going public, the team seems to be of the belief that hazing is done out of love and brings the team closer.
Jets linebacker Bart Scott thinks that Amukamara has not...
