New York Jets wide receiver Santonio Holmes took a shot during a team’s scrimmage Saturday night that might have broken a rib. According to NFL.com, coach Rex Ryan said the injury didn’t look good. “I don’t know if Santonio broke a rib or not, but the fact that it was sticking out was probably an indicator,” Ryan said. Ryan doesn’t expect Holmes to be back on the field for at least a few days. “He’s a tough guy, but I don’t think he’s going to be running out there tomorrow or the next day,” Ryan said. If Holmes misses significant time, it would be a blow to a Jets offense that isn’t blessed with a multitude of playmakers. That fact was evident during the scrimmage. Quarterback Tim Tebow ran four drives without a pass completion and was sacked once and fumbled two snaps, the New York Daily News reported. The bright spot was three rushes for 14 yards.
