New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis will undergo surgery on his torn ACL next week, reports Jane McManus of ESPNNewYork.com, ending any hopes of his return this season. Darrelle Revis will have surgery next Thursday to repair ACL, will go on IR so they can use roster spot. #NFL #Jets — Jane McManus (@janesports) October 12, 2012 The Jets are expected to place Revis on injured reserve, which will free up a roster spot, following his procedure. Coach Rex Ryan admitted that his initial hope of having Revis back for the Super Bowl will no longer be a possibility after he undergoes surgery. Revis sustained the injury during the Jets’ Week 1 matchup with the Miami Dolphins.
