Linebacker Quinton Coples will make his regular-season debut for the New York Jets on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills, a month after having surgery on a fractured ankle. Coples, listed as probable on the team's injury report Friday, hurt his right ankle against Jacksonville on Aug. 17 and had surgery to repair a hairline fracture three days later. He was originally listed as being out indefinitely, but Coples practiced for the first time Wednesday, and the ankle responded well this week. Coach Rex Ryan says the fact Coples is already ready to play - even in a limited role - is ''probably a story in itself.'' The only player listed as out for the Jets is rookie offensive tackle Oday Aboushi, who Ryan said dislocated a knee in practice Thursday. --- AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org

Willie Colon Calls $35,000 Fine for Role in Jets-Patriots Fight ‘Double Whammy,’ Says He’ll Appeal It

Willie Colon is taking his ejection and fine for his role in the Jets-Patriots scrum last Thursday in stride, but it’s still got to sting to both get kicked out of a game and have to give up $35,000, especially after teammate D’Brickashaw Ferguson is reportedly only out $15,000 for what he did during the same fight. Buffalo Bills at New York Jets: 2013 Week 3 NFL Pick

Buffalo Bills (1-1) at New York Jets (1-1) It’s really early, but the Jets have the best defense in the NFL, by far, in terms of preventing their opponent from moving the chains. They’ve allowed just 51.2% of first and 10s to be converted for a subsequent first down. Getting Tampa Bay week 1 and then a Thursday Night Game in the rain week 2 definitely helps, but you have to be...
