New York Jets linebacker Calvin Pace has been fined $15,000 by the NFL for an illegal hit on Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick last Sunday. Pace slammed into Vick as he threw a 26-yard touchdown to Brent Celek in the Eagles' 45-19 victory, and was called for a 15-yard roughing-the-passer penalty. Pace told reporters Thursday he planned to appeal the fine. He told ESPNNewYork.com that he didn't read the letter sent to him from the league. ''I saw $15,000 and threw it in the trash,'' Pace told the website. Jets coach Rex Ryan wouldn't comment on the fine, saying only that he's ''not the expert there.'' Pace, in his fourth season with the Jets, is third on the team with 81 tackles and has 4 1/2 sacks.

Jerry Jones: Cowboys in for big challenge

Judging by the statements made by Jerry Jones over the past few days, he obviously has tremendous respect for the Philadelphia Eagles. Much of that comes from the 34-7 beat down that Philly handed the Cowboys in late October. During that lopsided defeat, Eagles quarterback Michael Vick had one of his best games of the season. A Look Back on How We Used To Think Of Michael Vick

Reading through the Sports Illustrated Vaults are how I like to spend some of my free time. Tim Tebow Passer Rating Better Than Newton or Vick

Sorry Steve Smith, you are flat-out wrong about Cam Newton and for those still supporting Michael Vick, the statistics show that Tim Tebow has a better passing rating than either quarterback right now. The Broncos’ quarterback currently has a passer rating of 83.6, while Newton is at 82.6 and Vick is at 80.6. And in the 4th quarter Tebow’s passer rating moves to...

Defense vows to put Mann under pressure

The Jets defense hopes to turn Eli Manning’s No. 10 into a bull’s-eye. After getting embarrassed by Michael Vick last week, the Jets’ D has some frustration to take out. They plan on doing that tomorrow at Manning’s expense. They know if they give Manning time in...
