NY Sports Nut:
The New York Jets released recently acquired running back Khalil Bell. The former Chicago Bear received the most action in his first game as a Jet, carrying the ball 10 times for only 20 yards and catching one ball for 11 yards. Since his first game, over the next four games Bell only received two carries for 12 yards, catching one ball for two yards and a lost fumble.
The team is short on receivers now that rookie Stephen Hill is out with a knee injury. Even though Braylon Edwards called out Jets management and many thought that would have killed his chances of returning to New York (including me), he is the apparent front runner given how desperate the team is for a wide-out and his rapport with Mark Sanchez.
In Edwards’ final season with the Jets in 2010, he was their leading receiver and averaged an excellent 17.1 yards-per-reception. He and Sanchez possessed solid chemistry and Edwards’ height, 6-foot-3, and ability to make tough plays covered up some of Sanchez’s inaccurate throws.
If the Jets were mathematically eliminated from the playoffs this move would make no sense. However, the team is one game back of the final Wild Card spot, needs to bring in a receiver, and Edwards undoubtedly makes the most sense. Sanchez is already struggling this season so bringing in a receiver that he’s comfortable with can only help him.
Check back later for news and opinions if and when Edwards is signed.

“Idiots” Running the Jets Re-sign Idiot Named Braylon Edwards
You thought the expression was “Misery loves company.” Well apparently, idiocy does, too, because the Jets have claimed Braylon Edwards off of waivers from the Seattle Seahawks. Either the Jets’ front office pays no attention to social media (yeah, right) or they think that Edwards has spent his off-time being retooled a-la Steve Austin into a better, faster, stronger receiver...
Report: Braylon Edwards may end up signing with the Jets
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, free agent wide receiver Braylon Edwards could end up signing with the New York Jets, who’ve been depleted at the wide receiver position all season.
After winning yesterday’s game against the Jaguars, the Jets are now 6-7 and only a game out of the wild card race. If they sign Edwards it will give them a better chance of making it to the...
New York Jets Sign Braylon Edwards For Potential Playoff Run
The New York Jets signed Braylon Edwards on Tuesday, just a week after the veteran wide receiver referred to the people who run the team as idiots.
After Edwards was waived by the Seattle Seahawks, Gang Green put a claim on him and was awarded with the former 2005 first-round pick (selected third overall by the Cleveland Browns) on waivers, the team announced.
The 6-3, 214-pound...
Braylon Edwards back “home” with the Jets
The Jets have picked up their former wideout, Braylon Edwards off of waivers. Remember it was just last week that Braylon referred to Jets management as “idiots” for the way they’ve handled QB Mark Sanchez.
Apparently the Jets are very forgiving and were trying to trade for Edwards a few weeks before the Seahawks cut him. Two seasons ago Sanchez and Edwards had great chemistry...

Edwards is back with the team that let him sign with the 49ers last season. What’s really funny is just he just bashed the Jets last week, which likely led to him being released by the Seahawks.

Report: Braylon Edwards Could Return to Jets One Week After Blasting Front Office
This is just so Jets.

Jets Awarded WR Braylon Edwards Off Waivers From Seattle
Braylon Edwards is officially a Jet again, the team announced this afternoon.
Edwards, 29, was released off the Seattle Seahawks injured reserve on Monday and joins a Jets team desperate for help at the wide receiver position. Rookie Stephen Hill sustained an LCL sprain against the Jaguars last week, cutting the number of healthy wideouts on the active roster down to three.
The...
Sanchez, Jets see 'comfort level' with Edwards
Braylon Edwards was pretty good in 2010, and so was Mark Sanchez. The two have pretty much stunk since. Edwards and Sanchez, who connected on 62 passes, eight touchdowns and more than 40 first downs in the New York Jets' 2010 campaign, were reunited this week after an odd sequence of events."We have a good chemistry together," Sanchez said Tuesday, via the Star-Ledger...
