Found November 27, 2011 on NBC Connecticut:
We haven't seen much of the Cardiac Jets that made the 2010 season so exciting, but they showed up just in time to save the season.  Down 24-21 late in the fourth quarter, Mark Sanchez led the team on an 82-yard drive that ended with a touchdown to Santonio Holmes with one minute to play. It was Sanchez's career-high fourth touchdown pass of the day, a number that makes little sense when you watched him play poorly almost the entire day. It wasn't over there, though. The Jets defense let the Bills drive all the way down the field on their final drive, but with visions of Denver dancing in everyone's head, they held on for a 28-21 win. The game was a microcosm of everything that has gone wrong for the Jets this season. Their biggest flaws on offense, defense and special teams all contributed to put the Jets' backs up against the wall. Offensively, Sanchez spent the first 55 minutes or so struggling as badly as he has at any point in his career. He was picked for t...

New York Jets Fans Need Attitude Adjustment

It all makes sense now. As I watched Mark Sanchez give his post-game press conference in the aftermath of Sunday’s sloppy but exhilarating win over Buffalo, the third-year Jets quarterback never once even came close to cracking a smile.  After such an emotional and important win, the quarterback exuded zero positive energy.  He said, stone-faced, that he was “thrilled” with...

Sanchez drives Jets to victory

Mark Sanchez threw four touchdown passes, including the winning score to Santonio Holmes with just over a minute remaining, as the New York Jets kept pace in the AFC playoff race with a 28-24 comeback victory over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. With the Jets trailing 24-21 and facing a third-and-11 from the Bills 36, Sanchez connected with Plaxico Burress, who made an impressive one...

Bills Playoff Hopes Take a Hit as They Fall to Jets

It may have been ugly but Mark Sanchez led the Jets to the 28-24 victory over the Bills on Sunday In a game in which Mark Sanchez was held under 50% passing, it was the one throw he did make that propelled the New York Jets to a 28-24 victory over the Buffalo Bills. Sanchez connected with Santonio Holmes on a 16-yard touchdown pass in the corner of the endzone with 1:01 remaining...

Refs Not Being Kind to Sanchez

From Rich Cimini’s blog: Game officials seem to have it out for QB Mark Sanchez. He has been victimized by at least two illegal hits that resulted in fines — the Broncos’ Von Miller ($25,000) and the Ravens’ Haloti Ngata ($15,000) — but no flag was thrown in either case and there have been no roughing-the-passer penalties all season. Sanchez has drawn two personal-foul...

Transcript: QB Mark Sanchez 11/27

On the third down catch that Plaxico Burress made… I don’t know if words do it justice. It was a big time catch in a crucial situation and it really gave us a chance to take the lead there and either have a gimme field goal or go for the lead like we ended up doing. So if that doesn’t happen we have a real long field goal ahead of us, and he just made it a lot easier on our...

Sanchez fits Bill vs. Buffalo

There are times when you’re convinced Mark Sanchez is going to be the quarterback the Jets thought he was going to be when they moved up in the draft to pluck him from USC three years ago. And there are times when you wonder if he will ever get it.

Sanchez, Welker fly high

You didn't want to do it. I pounded a desk emphatically to trust me on this one and to pay no mind to Mark Brunell's practice snaps. Mark Sanchez earns a game ball for his four-touchdown performance against the injury-depleted Buffalo secondary (George Wilson missed the game). It wasn't pretty. Sanchez completed 17-of-35 attempts for 180 yards, his fifth game this season...

Sanchez's 4 TD passes helps Jets rally past Bills

Mark Sanchez threw a career-high four touchdown passes as the New York Jets rallied past the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, 28-24.

Jets Extend Schottenheimer to 2012

He's been apart of two memorable runs to the AFC Championship game. He's personally taken on the maturation process of Mark Sanchez. And he's one of the most polarizing figures on this New York Jets team. He's been praised when the team's winning and crucified when losing. He's been considered the mad genius of the Jets offense -- usually more mad than genius...

Recap: NY Jets vs. Buffalo

Mark Sanchez completed less than 50 percent of his passes and heard boos from the crowd. But those same fans cheered in unison when the third-year quarterback found Santonio Holmes for a 16-yard touchdown with 1:01 remaining in the fourth quarter to lift the New York Jets to a much-needed 28-24 win over the Buffalo Bills.

Leonhard Disappointed by Fans’ Booing

Safety Jim Leonhard appeared on WFAN Radio today and aired a grievance that has been festering since yesterday afternoon, expressing his disappointment in the fans for booing Mark Sanchez during pre-game warm-ups. Jim Leonhard left no secret that he wasn’t happy with the boos directed at Mark Sanchez before the Jets’ 28-24 win to the Bills on Sunday. The veteran safety, one of...

New York Jets WR Plaxico Burress, 11.27 On his third down catch on the final offensive drive… It was an all-out blitz by Buffalo.  He (Mark Sanchez) just looked at me and gave me the signal.  I didn’t think Sanchez was going to throw it. On the difficulty of his third down grab… It was just a regular catch to me.  The goal is to haul them all in and just try to find a way...

Rex lays it on offensive line — and gets positive results

Jets coach Rex Ryan called out the offensive line in the team’s pregame meeting Saturday night. The unit had allowed quarterback Mark Sanchez to take some brutal hits in the last two weeks and had failed to open running lanes. Ryan told the line it was time to improve...
