Jets not ready to rule out Revis for season

Rex Ryan says the New York Jets are not ready to place star cornerback Darrelle Revis on season-ending injured reserve in case he recovers from a torn knee ligament in time to play in the Super Bowl. Ryan says Friday that if there's a ''0.0002 percent chance'' Revis, who tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee last Sunday, can come back and play...

With Revis out, now is the time for the Jets to see the real Quinton Coples.

If you watched any of the Jets’ four preseason games this summer, one of the first players that likely caught your eye was Quinton Coples. Coples, the Jets’ 2012 first-round draft selection out of North Carolina, concluded his first ever preseason with 4.5 sacks. While that’s certainly an impressive stat, the stellar production hasn’t carried over into the regular season...

Jets’ Antonio Cromartie Thinks He’s the Best Cornerback in the NFL

New York Jets‘ Antonio Cromartie is one confident person. Earlier in the season, Cromartie dubbed himself the “second-best wide receiver” on the Jets roster behind Santonio Holmes. And now, Cromartie is labeling himself as the best cornerback in the NFL. It is funny, though, since his teammate Darrelle Revis is considered the best in the league. However, Cromartie thinks...

Joe McKnight not happy about moving to cornerback

New York Jets running back Joe McKnight made it known on Wednesday that he’s not happy about moving to the defensive side of the ball and playing cornerback. “I was drafted as a running back,” McKnight said. “The way I took it as I wasn’t good enough to play running back; that’s what I took it as. I don’t know if that’s the case or not.” McKnight explained how Rex...

NFL Rumors: Jets Won’t Be Putting Darrelle Revis On IR?

After tearing his ACL and most likely not playing another down for the rest of the 2012-13 regular season, the New York Jets have decided not to put Pro Bowl cornerback Darrelle Revis on the injured-reserve list. The decision by Rex Ryan was made official when he told the media that the team has a good shot at a Super Bowl this year and they could be lucky enough if Revis...

Antonio Cromartie says he’s best corner in NFL since Revis is out

Maybe by best cornerback in NFL, he meant best pro-creator of children in the NFL? I can see how you can get the two confused. Here is what Cro had to say via Pro Football Talk. “I have said that I’m the second-best corner in the NFL,” Cromartie said. “I’m not backing off what I said. I don’t care what anyone else believe. . . . It’s my confidence in myself....

Falcons thriving at creating takeaways

First-year defensive coordinator Mike Nolan keeps putting the Atlanta Falcons in position to make big plays. The Falcons' pass rush and coverage schemes have created 11 takeaways, tops in the NFL through the first three games. With 14 years of experience in the league as a coordinator and four as a head coach, Nolan wants his defense to stay in attack mode until he tells the...

Jets Meet With Ex-Lions CB Aaron Berry, Three Others

The Jets, looking for cornerback depth in the wake of Darrelle Revis' knee injury, brought in four free agents Friday, Rich Cimini of ESPNNewYork.com reports. They conducted tryouts with Chris Carr, Dante Hughes and Darrin Wells and visited with Aaron Berry, according to a league source. Carr, 29, a journeyman with 105 games of experience, is the biggest name. But the Jets...

PREVIEW: 49ers (2-1) @ NY JETS (2-1)

Do you think Rex Ryan gets a little green with envy when preparing for Jim Harbaugh's San Francisco 49ers?Since his introduction as Jets head coach prior to the 2010 season, Ryan has envisioned his team in a certain way: defensively labeled as a hard-nosed, smash-mouth unit that creates turnovers and beats up the quarterback -- and if they put a few players on their ass, no one...

Falcons DE John Abraham Says 'Bad Timing' Led To His Arrest

John Abraham was arrested on Monday on two charges of obstruction and the Atlanta Falcons defensive end chalked it up to “bad timing.” D. Week 4 NFL Preview: Carolina Panthers at Atlanta Falcons

Right now, Matt Ryan is head and shoulders above the rest of the NFL in the MVP race. Granted, they’ve only played three games but it seems like he has refocused and started utilizing all of his weapons surrounding him on offense. Cam Newton, on the other hand, has struggled mightily thus far in 2012. With his Panthers off to a 1-2 start and coming off of an embarassing loss at...
