After releasing Martin Tevaseu from the active roster yesterday, the Jets made a corresponding move this morning, signing WR Eron Riley from the Denver Broncos practice squad.
There must have been enough tape of Eron Riley’s fine preseason, because the New York Jets signed Riley off the Broncos’ practice squad today.
Riley had six catches for a team-high 187 yards and two touchdowns during the preseason. He finished with a 43-yard touchdown catch from Tim Tebow.
Riley, 6-foot-3, was undrafted out of Duke in 2009. He has spent time with the Baltimore Ravens and Carolina Panthers, but has never seen any game action.
It could be a short stay for Riley, with Logan Payne likely to return after the Week 8 bye. For now, this gives the Jets a fifth healthy receiver on the roster after trading Derrick Mason last week.
