The New York Jets and team general manager Mike Tannenbaum announced Wednesday that they signed cornerback LeQuan Lewis. Lewis signed last July as an undrafted free agent with the Tennessee Titans during training camp and performed well, but wound up being one of the last cuts prior to the start of the 2011 regular season. After he was waived by the Titans, Lewis was out of the NFL for the rest of the season. On May 14 this year, he signed as a free agent with the Oakland Raiders, but was waived five weeks later. Lewis is a former Arizona State star. During his college career, which spanned just two seasons, he recorded 26 tackles, one interception and also tallied a 25.0-kick return average. He also blocked a kick as a senior at ASU.

New York Jets – Is Mike Tannenbaum Asleep At The Wheel?

It has become a weekly topic here at Turn On The Jets to question the New York Jets depth on the offensive side of the football.  In general, Mike Tannenbaum has done more good than bad since becoming the team’s general manager. The extent he is criticized by outlets like Pro Football Talk and Mike Lombardi on NFL.com is overdone and out of touch with reality. Regardless, facing...

Tim Tebow Confessions: Tumblr Account Or Failed ESPN Reality Series?

Yesterday, after we wished New York Jets backup quarterback Tim Tebow a very happy 25th birthday, ESPN apparently turned the volume up to 11 and threw the Teebster a birthday party for the ages. Sadly, I missed that, so I just imagine that it was the complete opposite of Kirk Cameron’s birthday party. But a lot of the Tweeps that I follow on Twitter were none too pleased with it...

The Jets have been the central focus of ESPN since training camp began, and that truth hasn’t been lost on Rex Ryan or many others.
