A day after appearing unhappy about the status of the running game, Rex Ryan and the Jets have added former Texans running back Jonathan Grimes, the team announced.

The Jets signed Grimes off the team's practice squad, which means he must remain on their active roster for at least three weeks.

Grimes had 130 yards on 28 preseason carries along with 58 receiving yards and will join a platoon which includes Bilal Powell, Shonn Greene and Joe McKnight, who all received carries last Sunday.

Rex Ryan: Vernon Davis is top tight end in the NFL, not Rob Gronkowski

After his record-breaking 2011 season during which he hauled in 17 touchdown receptions, most people feel as though Rob Gronkowski is the best all-around tight end in the NFL. Rex Ryan disagrees. If I didn’t think New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan was taking a shot at the New England Patriots, I might believe he believes what he’s saying. The New York Post is reporting that Ryan stated to the San Francisco press that he will face the toughest tight end in the NFL this year, he just doesn’t play for New England. Yes people, it’s not Rob Gronkowski, it’s...

Jets RB could play defense with CB Revis out

While Joe McKnight lost the third-down running back job to Bilal Powell during training camp, the third-year pro might become a two-way player for Rex Ryan and company.

Rex Ryan wants to covert Joe McKnight from a RB to CB?

This could be worse move in history of the Rex Ryan era as the New York Jets head coach since 2009. He wants to covert Joe McKnight from running back to cornerback? This move doesn't make anysense at all. I know Joe McKnight played cornerback in high school and some in college for USC, but this is the pros. They only making this potential move to happen because Darrelle Revis...

Jets Re-Sign LB Bryan Thomas, Says He Was Upset By Being Cut

Bryan Thomas spoke with general manager Mike Tannenbaum and coach Rex Ryan shortly after his release on Saturday and they promised to bring him back. Mikhail Prokhorov Expecting Championship for Brooklyn Nets Within Three Years is Only Mostly Crazy

In a city that includes Rex Ryan among its sports personalities, preseason prognostications in New York should be taken with one of those big grains of salt that flavors the soft pretzels sold on Manhattan street corners. Joe Namath once shocked the world by guaranteeing a Jets victory over the Colts in Super Bowl III. Now a New York franchise seems remiss if some member of the organization...
