Jets sign veteran TE Owens to replace Franks

The New York Jets have signed veteran free agent tight end Richard Owens. The signing Tuesday comes a day after the team released Bubba Franks. Owens, 28, has 17 career catches for 141 yards and a touchdown in four NFL seasons with Minnesota and St. Louis. He was out of the NFL last season after he was cut by the Rams.
