The New York Jets signed wide receiver Chaz Schilens and quarterback Drew Stanton to contracts.
Terms were not disclosed for Schilens, who had just 23 receptions despite playing in 15 games last season for the Oakland Raiders.
Schilens has shown promise when healthy, reeling in 72 catches for 902 yards and seven touchdowns since being drafted out of San Diego State in 2008.
Stanton will serve as the primary backup to Mark Sanchez, who inked a three-year contract extension last week. Stanton, who signed a one-year deal, has won two of his three starts with the Detroit Lions.
