Jets' Starting Slot CB Late Addition to Injury Report, Questionable vs. Bills
Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports

The New York Jets made a troubling addition to their official injury report on Saturday, one day prior to their Week 11 road game against the Buffalo Bills.

Starting slot cornerback Michael Carter II popped up with a hamstring injury. His availability for Sunday's divisional battle is questionable.

Carter II is now one of three Jets players who carry a questionable designation. Wide receiver Garrett Wilson and rookie edge rusher Will McDonald are the other two. Both were limited in practice this past week.

Offensive tackle Billy Turner, backup linebacker Chazz Surratt and special teamer Sam Eguavoen were all ruled out for the Jets on Friday. In addition, veteran left tackle Duane Brown and tight end Kenny Yeboah both practiced in full this past week, but will not be activated off Injured Reserve in time for the Week 11 game.

The Jets are ranked second overall amongst NFL defenses in yards (5.35) permitted per pass play. Carter II is the lone New York cornerback to have appeared in all nine games this season. He made five tackles in the Week 1 win over the Bills at MetLife Stadium.

The 24-year-old Carter has held opposing receivers to 5.2 yards per target this season. The 2021 fifth-round draft pick has allowed one touchdown on his watch. Carter has been on the field for 70 percent of the Jets' defensive snaps in 2023. He has 36 tackles, two passes defensed and one forced fumble to his credit.

The Jets and the Bills clash for the second time this season at 4:25 pm ET on November 19 in Orchard Park. The Bills average 7.25 yards per pass play (8th in NFL). Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen leads the circuit in total touchdowns (26) and interceptions (11).

Gameday inactives are due out no later than 90 minutes prior to kickoff.
