Usually, quarterbacks are off limits to taking hits from the defense during NFL practices, but when the Jets unveiled their goal-line offense on Thursday with Tim Tebow taking the snaps, coach Rex Ryan took the unusual step of telling the defense that the drill was live, meaning they could tackle Tebow.

"When he said it was live, that made me smile," said Tebow, according to ESPNNewYork.com.

Operating with the second-team offense, Tebow scored untouched on the first play in the drill. On the second play, he hit Josh Baker with a touchdown pass. On the fourth play, Tebow took a snap from the Wildcat formation and ran for another touchdown. He produced three touchdowns in four plays from the 2-yard line.

In this, the Jets sixth practice, the team provided a glimpse of how they might use Tebow.

Ryan called it Tebow's "best day of camp."

"We saw a little bit of what he can do, what he brings to the table," Ryan said, according to the report. "When we start doing more Wildcat things, we'll all be excited Tim is here.

"I can see us doing some of that because I know how difficult it is to stop. We're going to do whatever we can to score, if that means putting Tim in or if it means leaving Mark [Sanchez] in."

Tebow was certainly on board with it.

"If that's something they want me to do, I'd be more than happy to do it and try to do it to the best of my ability -- and, hopefully, do a pretty good job at it," Tebow said.

The attention placed on the goal-line offense also meant Sanchez would be asked about it - whether he is bothered that Tebow may be used in goal-line situations.

"Doesn't matter, we have to win," he said. "It's fine with me ... It's bigger than what one person on this team wants. We're in the business of winning and we have to be selfless, myself included."
