Found October 22, 2010 on The Jets Blog:
The Jets have waived ILB Kenwin Cummings, who joined the club as an UDFA in 2008.  Cummings was often an inactive for the Jets since he was elevated to the active roster late last season, and who mostly made contributions on special teams.  Cummings was put onto the active roster during the overlapping injuries to David Harris and Bart Scott last year. My guess is that this a prelude to another move that the team must be in the process of making, maybe as Steiny has already hinted.  I mean, why cut a backup linebacker in the middle of their bye week without another shoe about to drop?  I liked Cummings a lot, and while he’s not been able to stake much of a claim as a regular contributor on defense, he’s been a help on special teams.  It would appear that the Jets are going another direction, in the short term, and more likely in the long-term too.
