Jets wide receiver Santonio Holmes and newcomer Greg Salas have been ruled out for Sunday’s AFC East showdown with the Patriots at MetLife Stadium. But the Jets are getting corners Dee Milliner and Kyle Wilson back just in time to face New England — presumably with tight end Rob Gronkowski. “I still haven’t introduced myself to [Salas] yet. I guess he’s on the team’’ coach Rex Ryan joked of Salas who has yet to practice with Gang Green. “Both those two guys will not play. They did not practice and they will not play. Everybody else practiced full so everybody should be up ready to go.’’ Milliner has sat out the past three games with a pulled hamstring while Wilson had a concussion. Both are listed as probable and each practiced on Friday the first day since the injury Wilson had practiced without the red non-contact jersey. “I feel good. I’ve just been taking it day-by-day” Wilson said. “Today’s been going well. I kind of just go for it. Just take it day-by-day and be honest w

New York Jets – The Coples Conundrum

There have been a lot of questions and concerns surrounding New York Jets OLB/DE Quinton Coples this season, as expectations for a breakout second year have been tempered following a slow start for the former first round pick out of UNC. The last time we saw the “real” Quinton Coples, he was manhandling Jaguars quarterback Blaine Gabbert in the preseason, forcing a fumble as...

Dee Milliner to return this week, Santonio Holmes will not

Jet’s rookie CB Dee Milliner will be back for the Jets this weekend after missing 3 games with a hamstring injury. It has not been the type of season the Jets were hoping for out of Miller, who they drafted essentially to replace Darrelle Revis. WR Santonio Holmes will miss this weekends matchup with his own hamstring injury. Cornerback Dee Milliner will be in the lineup for the...

Geno Smith celebrates touchdown run with failed spike (GIF)

New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith had an 8-yard touchdown run in the third quarter of Sunday's win over New England, but he probably wishes he could have a do-over on his spike attempt as he celebrated the score. In case you couldn't see it, here's a close-up of Smith losing his grip on the ball as he raises it up to spike it on the ground: Sometimes...

New York Jets Defensive Snap Count – Analysis and Previewing Week 7

Due to Rex Ryan’s complicated defensive schemes that sometimes put players in positions they’re not fully accustomed to, I decided to also note where New York Jets players were lining up, along with tallying their snap count.  For example, I notched down what “techniques” defensive lineman were lined up in, if safeties were playing on the deeper level or in the front seven’s...

Initial Reaction – Finally! New York Jets Get Overdue Win Against Pats

The New York Jets had a classic first half against the New England Patriots. Offensively, they turned the football over which directly led to Patriots points. Defensively, they looked unprepared for the hurry up offense. Penalties. Poor special teams. 21-10 New England at the half. It felt like the Jets were on their way to yet another frustrating loss to New England, along with...

Jets Fan Punches Woman in the Face After Pats Game (Video)

The Jets won, so I don’t understand why this guy is trying to start a brawl and punching girls in the face? Granted the ladies (I use that term loosely) appear to be throwing some blows as well. They all just look like a bunch of drunken idiots. H/T Deadspin

Turn On The Jets 12 Pack, Week 7 Edition

You’ll have to excuse my skepticism about the New York Jets chances this Sunday. No Vince Wilfork. No Jerod Mayo. No Aqib Talib. No Danny Amendola. No Shane Vereen. And on and on. I’ve seen this movie before. 2008? No Brady…Jets still lost at home. Back in week 2? Pats were all sorts of banged up…Jets still lost. I know we had the good times (and the bad times) in 2009 and...

Jets upend Patriots in OT after unusual penalty gives Nick Folk a second chance

The Jets snapped their five-game losing streak to New England on Sunday in most unusual fashion. Nick Folk kicked a 42-yard field goal with 5:07 remaining in overtime to give the Jets a 30-27 victory. Folk initially missed a 56-yard field goal – his first miss of the season – but was bailed out when defensive tackle Chris Jones was penalized 15 yards for pushing one of his teammates...

Jets rookie says Tom Brady gets special treatment from NFL

Sheldon Richardson is a Jets rookie. Most people, much less NFL fans, have never heard of him, but he has decided to assume the mantle of the New York player running his mouth before Sunday’s game against the Patriots. Richardson’s attack method is not a new one — he’s going after quarterback Tom Brady, and he’s saying the Patriots get special treatment from the league...

Jets edge Patriots in OT

Nick Folk missed. And then, he didn't. After a penalty on New England gave the New York Jets kicker another chance, Folk booted a 42-yard field goal with 5:07 left in overtime for a 30-27 victory over the Patriots on Sunday. Folk was wide left on a 56-yarder, but the miss was negated when New England's Chris Jones was called for unsportsmanlike conduct for pushing a teammate...

Ref explains penalty vs. Patriots

Referee Jerome Boger explained in a pool report the penalty committed by Patriots defensive tackle Chris Jones that negated a missed Jets field goal in overtime. Nick Folk soon made a 42-yarder to win the game 30-27 Sunday. Pool reporter Mike Reiss asked Boger: ''Please explain the penalty that was called on No. 94 (Jones) on the field goal.'' Boger: ''The...

New York Jets vs. New England Patriots – Halftime Report

The New England Patriots have brought a healthy Rob Gronkowski and a banged up defense to Metlife Stadium this week to face the Jets. Fortunately for the Patriots, their rock solid offensive performance is hiding a defense filled with back up players. On the other end, Geno Smith and the Jets have played well enough to hang around besides a brutal pick six in the first quarter. Let’s...

Some Positives From Heath Miller In New York

By Matthew Marczi Yesterday, we took a look at some of the lowlights exposed in tight end Heath Miller’s game against the New York Jets, during which he struggled to block on screen passes and also relinquished a sack. Yet he also managed a season-high in receiving yards that game, so it clearly could not have been all bad, so now it is time to take a look at some of the positives...

Patriots-Jets Preview

Geno Smith had a rough day the first time the New York Jets and New England Patriots faced off in...
