The New York Jets beat the Buffalo Bills 27-20.  It was a battle of the rookie quarterbacks.  It was ugly.  But a win is a win, right? Here are three things we can take away from the win.Penalties? The Jets were penalized an astonishing 20 times for 168 yards.  The 20 penalties set a franchise record.  Cornerback Kyle Wilson was responsible for three straight penalties.  He allowed Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stevie Johnson to get under his skin.  It was a poor display.ESPN New York reports, the Jets are the first team to get called for that many penalties and win since the Browns beat the Bears in 1951 with 21 penalties. Yea?Rookie QuarterbacksSometimes it is not the stats that matter. Bills quarterback E.J. Manuel finished the game 19-of42 for 243 yards.  He had one passing touchdown.  Manuel also rushed six times for 40 yards.Meanwhile Jets quarterback Geno Smith was 16-of-29 for 331 yards, two passing touchdowns and two interceptions.  Smith also had one rushing touchdown on four carries and 14 yards. The entire game Manuel appeared more clean.  He didn't throw a single interception. He also did not lead his team to victory. What? The Jets have Wide ReceiversFrom the 2013 draft day until now, the Gang Green faithful have been lamenting about the lack of quality receivers in the Jets' stable. One week is not indicative of a season, but it does give reason to hope.  It was kinda magical. Santonio Holmes looked electric.  He finished the game with only five receptions but he looked good.  In those five receptions he amassed 154 yards with one touchdown.  Yes, he had one fumble.  All is forgiven.  The Jets won.Often maligned Stephen Hill collected three receptions with 108 yards and one touchdown.  And the even better news, he did not fumble the ball.Yes, it was ugly.  But at the end of the day the Jets are 2-1.
