It's one thing for Alex Smith to complain about playing time, but Brandon Jacobs? At his Monday press conference Jim Harbaugh did his best Bill Belichick, although he does need some practice in answering in monotone quick hits instead of 'no comment." Harbaugh was hammered on running back Jacobs and his recent complaining about his playing time. Jacobs is well known in New York for his time with the Giants, and loud banter over his status. Now in San Francisco, Jacobs isn't happy in his first year as a 49er. Harbaugh seemed annoyed when having to address questions on a player who has played in only 2 games. “I don’t . . . I really don’t have a comment for you on that at this point,” Harbaugh said when asked about Jacobs. “No comment," according to Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee." Asked if he has spoken to Jacobs, Harbaugh answered, “No comment.” Asked if Jacobs is still a member of the team, Harbaugh answered, “I’ll go with the Fifth Amendment. I have no comment on that.” Asked if he knew that Jacobs had a tendency to complain about playing time, Harbaugh answered, “Yeah, at this time, at this hour, I choose to have no comment.” var switchTo5x=true; stLight.options({publisher:''});

Gore, James solid 1-2 punch in 49ers' run game

Frank Gore quickly gave credit to rookie LaMichael James for an impressive NFL debut - and for taking some pressure off the three-time Pro Bowler in the process. Anthony Dixon is doing his part for San Francisco, too. The 49ers' versatile running game showed its depth in Sunday's 27-13 victory against Miami, with Gore leading the way en route to his sixth career 1,000-yard...

49ers suspend Jacobs for final regular season games

The San Francisco 49ers announced on Monday they have suspended running back Brandon Jacobs for the final three games of the regular season. The suspension comes several days after Jacobs complained via social media about his lack of playing time. Head coach Jim Harbaugh issued a "no comment" during his Monday press conference when asked to elaborate on Jacobs'...

49ers move to 9-3-1 with win over Dolphins

The 49ers improved to 9-3-1 and still keep distance ahead of Seattle and the No.2 seed. However if the offense doesn’t get together and be more consistent, it will be hard to keep that No.2 spot, let alone win the West. Colin Kaepernick finished the day 18 of 23 for 183 and no touchdowns or interceptions. It was very Alexesque, that is until he scored a touchdown on a 50 yard run...

Frank Gore's sweatshirt zings Dolphins after win

San Francisco 49ers star Frank Gore must have known that his team would win against the Miami Dolphins Sunday afternoon, because after the game Gore showed off a hoodie which displayed a dolphin (the Miami Dolphins logo) laid upside down, which appeared to be knocked out or "dead".Gore, who played a big part in the 27-13 win over the Miami Dolphins, wore the bold statement...

Dolpins held in check against 49ers

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- Frank Gore, Colin Kaepernick and Michael Crabtree pulled off the kind of grind-it-out win Jim Harbaugh wants to see during the December stretch run. Gore ran for a 1-yard touchdown and reached 1,000 yards rushing for the sixth time in his career, and the San Francisco 49ers beat the Miami Dolphins 27-13 on Sunday. Gore finished with 63 yards, Anthony Dixon...

Frank Gore Wearing a Dead Miami Dolphin Hoodie

San Francisco running back Frank Gore has never been known as a big trash talker, but after the 49ers beat the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, Gore was spotted rocking this hoodie with a dead Miami Dolphin on it.  Rock solid confidence right there.  Love it.  He's not talking trash about anyone specific, or calling anyone out via the media and not claiming it.  He stepped up and...

49ers Trip Up Dolphins, 27-13: Hero/Zero of the Game

In the 27-13 win for the Niners it was pretty clear who the hero was. The defense played stoutly as it usually does. Aldon Smith came through with 2 sacks. The one player who outshined them all, in my opinion. was San Francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick. He demonstrated why coach Jim Harbaugh had enough faith in him to take over the reigns as the starter in place of Alex Smith...

Death raises question of safety net

San Francisco 49ers defensive end Demarcus Dobbs walked away from a one-vehicle accident on his 25th birthday last month and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. Less than two weeks later, with the NFL rocked by the car crash that killed Dallas Cowboys player Jerry Brown and left his teammate, Josh Brent, facing a manslaughter charge, Dobbs swears he'll...

Frank Gore Wears Sweatshirt With Dead Miami Dolphin on It After 49ers Crush Dolphins (Photo)

Yeah, that would be how to rub it in. Frank Gore notched his sixth season with 1,000 or more rushing yards Sunday, and he also piled up 63 yards rushing and 22 yards receiving plus a touchdown to lead the 49ers past the Dolphins 27-13. But if he and his team’s dominance weren’t conveyed well enough by his stat line and the scoreboard, Gore’s getup after the game certainly told...

San Francisco 49ers Handle Miami Dolphins: Five Things We Learned

The San Francisco 49ers used their smashmouth style of play, capitalized on Miami mistakes, and treated their fans to a 27-13 home victory in Candlestick Park. It was a close game through most of the first half, but in the second half the Niners pulled away. The dagger was a Colin Kaepernick 50 yard scamper up the sideline on a read option play that had the Dolphins completely fooled...

49ers and Seahawks Week 16 game moving to Primetime

NBC has announced that it will flex their Sunday Night game for Week 16. NBC was set to air the San Diego Chargers vs the New York Jets, but since both those teams suck, NBC has decided to flex that game and air the 49ers vs the Seahawks. Depending on the outcomes of this weeks games, there is a good chance that game between the two could determine who wins the NFC West. If the 49ers...

Dolphins can't make enough plays down stretch in loss

For the second week in a row, the Miami Dolphins hung tough with one of the best teams in the NFL. And for the second week in a row, they couldn't make enough plays in the fourth quarter. The Dolphins spent more than three quarters of time within a touchdown or less of the San Francisco 49ers but couldn't get it done down the stretch in a 27-13 loss that all but mathematically...
