The Indianapolis Colts didn’t have the most notable day in free agency Tuesday, but the Twitter feed of team owner Jim Irsay sure suggested otherwise.
Irsay was promoting the team’s moves on his Twitter account, and you would have sworn the Colts had signed Mike Wallace and traded for Percy Harvin the way he was acting.
We will have some big announcements very soon!!!!!!!! We are THRILLED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shoot, after a tweet like that, you had to be excited. So what was the big news?
The Colts reached deals with OT Gosder Cherilus, DB Greg Toler, LB Erik Walden, OG Donald Thomas, and LB Lawrence Sidbury — none of whom are notable stars.
Because of the way he was hyping up the team’s moves, fans were understandably disappointed with the deals. That prompted a response from Irsay:
I know sum of u fans want BIG names n neon- Old,hurt or off field question marks/Grigson isn’t GM of year, who won 11 games by being wrong!

Recapping the Colts' 2nd Day of Free Agency
The Indianapolis Colts were quiet for most of the day but made a splash late.Let's start with the losses. Colts Cut Ties with Jerraud Powers, Donnie Avery and Winston Justice
The Indianapolis Colts have cut ties with cornerback Jerraud Powers, wide receiver Donnie Avery, and offensive tackle Winston Justice. With new guys coming in, it means that some guys have to go. Jerraud Powers had 4 productive years in Indianapolis, and I was a bit surprised he was let go. Powers is one of those guys that really can't hurt the team. The only consistent problem...

Indianapolis Colts sign OLB Erik Walden
It’s not often I hate a contract that isn’t worth a ton of money, but I hate this 16 million dollar deal the Colts gave to Erik Walden, over 4 years. They apparently view Walden as a cost effective option at rush linebacker opposite Robert Mathis, but he’s not a starting caliber player at all. Pressed into action due to injuries in each of the last two years in Green Bay, Walden...
