TEAMS: Baltimore Ravens
Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco has taken a public beating this postseason. From telling the media they don't give him enough respect, to getting called out by teammate Ed Reed, Flacco played with a major chip on his shoulder on Sunday afternoon. He also played with a major handlebar mustache on his face, but after his teammates couldn't play to his level, the quarterback decided to shave it off before cleaning out his locker on Monday morning. Check it out in the photo below. And here's the lasting image we have of the stache.

Can Joe Flacco rise to the occasion?

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco comes to the line during the third quarter against the Houston Texans at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Maryland on January 15, 2012. UPI/Kevin Dietsch It’s been a tough week for Joe Flacco, as Ed Reed’s comments have made Flacco the center of attention going into today’s playoff game with the Patriots. Flacco has added even more...

Rice: Flacco and I ‘Will be Ravens Next Year’

As the Baltimore Ravens enter an off-season certain to be marked by change to the 53-man roster, one thing is for sure, according to running back Ray Rice: Both he and quarterback Joe Flacco will play for the Ravens in 2012. “It will be an interesting off-season, but one thing I can guarantee you is [...]

Flacco deserves contract extension

Let me start by saying I really do like Joe Flacco. Flacco will be entering the final year of his rookie contract if the Ravens don’t sign him to an extension this offseason. Baltimore’s quarterback is the best quarterback the Ravens have ever had since their inception in 1996. There have been a ton of quarterbacks coming through here, starting with Vinny Testaverde and ending...

Flacco earns respect in playoff loss he didn’t deserve in previous wins

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco has faced the New England Patriots twice in the postseason. His team has won one of those games, and lost the other. If you subscribe to the idea of "quarterback wins" — that most nebulous of statistics, that makes Flacco 1-1 against Foxboro's favorite team. Here are his stat lines in each of those two games: 4 of 10 for 34...

Steven Tyler Botched National Anthem At AFC Championship Game

Do you know who you shouldn’t pick to sing the National Anthem? Steven Tyler in a terrible Patriots sequin shirt. I’m surprised the Foxboro crowd didn’t boo him out of the stadium. Joe Flacco had the worst facial hair possible in the AFC Championship between the New England Patriots and the Baltimore Ravens. Flacco also looked like he was going to pass out in the pre-game...

Patriots Edge Ravens In AFC Championship Thriller

All I can say is, "wow." Joe Flacco did his part. He deserves a lot of credit, despite the Ravens loss to the New England Patriots. Flacco threw the game winning touchdown to Lee Evans who had the ball promptly ripped out of his grasp on a play he'll likely have nightmares about for weeks or months to come. The game looked as if it was set up for an overtime finish...

Joe Flacco Outshines Tom Brady, but Still Comes Up Short

The oft-criticized Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco did all he could to lead Baltimore over the Patriots in the A.F.C. Championship game, only to see his team fall.

Flacco's play warrants long-term investment by Ravens

John Harbaugh pulls no punches following the AFC title game: Joe Flacco is the Ravens' quarterback for the future. Clark Judge notes Flacco, 49-24 as a starter, should help them keep winning for years to come.

Baltimore Ravens-New England Patriots 5 P’s: Preview, Point Spread, Pick, Prediction, and Poll

In this afternoon’s first conference championship game, the top two seeds in the AFC face off as Baltimore travels to Gillette Stadium to face the Patriots. For Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco (the subject of a recent MSF photo story) this is a big opportunity to show that he belongs in the discussion of the upper tier quarterbacks in the NFL. For Patriots superstar Tom Brady, today...

Heartbreak Time: Ravens Come Up Short

Since hiring John Harbaugh as their head coach in 2008, Baltimore has been on quite a run.  Quarterback Joe Flacco also came to Baltimore the same year and together, Harbaugh and Flacco have record of 49-24 and have won a playoff game every season. But they’re still missing one thing, a Super Bowl ring. Twice now, the Ravens have fallen in the AFC Championship game, once to Pittsburgh...

It's the Pats' turn to hold

By Jim Donaldson Helped by a 42-yard bomb on the first play of the possession from Joe Flacco to Torrey Smith -- and it could have been more, if Flacco didn't underthrow the ball -- the Ravens moved to a first down at the N.E. 12. This time, it was the New England defense that stepped up and held Baltimore to a field goal. Some will say the Ravens should...

Halftime at Gillette Stadium: Patriots 13, Ravens 10

No one thought it would be easy. And considering this Ravens defense, it hasn’t been. In this AFC Championship game, nothing will be easy. After 30 minutes of play at Gillette Stadium, it’s Patriots 13, Ravens 10. It was a struggle for the Patriots, who have managed two field goals and a TD with three shots inside the red zone. QB Tom Brady even ended the half kneeling, which...
