During the final play of Super Bowl 47, the 49ers had a chance to return a punt from the Ravens after Baltimore took a safety.
We know Ted Ginn may not have scored, but crazier things have happened. Pro Football Talk is reporting that in a NFL SoundFX special soon to be aired, Joe Flacco can be heard urging teammates to run on the field and tackle Ginn if he has a chance to score.
“If he starts to break it, go tackle him,” Flacco told tight end Dennis Pitta.
“Really?” Pitta said.
“I don’t know,” Flacco added. “I mean what else — what could they — I don’t know. I mean, they might be able to give him a touchdown on that, but I don’t know.”
We are not sure if Flacco was joking or not, but he continued to urge his teammates.
“I will,” Flacco then said. “I’m going to.”
NFL rules suggest an official can award a touchdown if something like that were to happen.

The NFL Network broadcasted their latest Sound FX episode from Super Bowl XLVII. As you can see from the video above, before the Ravens conducted their “free kick” after taking a safety to kill out as much time as they could at the end of the game, quarterback Joe Flacco told his teammates to tackle 49ers kick returner Ted Ginn Jr. if he breaks his return. He even said he’d...
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco set himself up
nicely entering the offseason, leading his team to a Super Bowl victory before
he’s set to hit the free agent market. But should this result in Flacco
becoming the NFL’s highest-paid player? One person pivotal to negotiations
thinks so, Flacco’s agent Joe Linta, according to Brian A. Shactman of CSNBC.
When asked whether...
Throwing 11 TD’s to 0 INT’s and securing a Super Bowl MVP in the process, has to assuredly have free agent to be Joe Flacco thinking dollar signs. The question will just end up being exactly how much money and what will the Ravens be willing to pay their quarterback. Flacco’s list of accomplishments [...]
By leading the Baltimore Ravens to a Super Bowl championship, Joe Flacco not only did the best possible thing he could do for the organization, but also for his own contract situation. Flacco will become a free agent this offseason, and there is no better leverage in contract negotiations than the Vince Lombardi trophy.
The 28-year-old is in for a massive payday, but how big are...
Joe Flacco was called out by his own dad for being a boring person, but this story gets him some street credit for sure.
He had a diabolic plan to save the Ravens’ bacon just in case San
Francisco’s Ted Ginn broke free on the last play of Sunday’s game. Well,
a diabolical and stupid plan.
"If he starts to break it, go tackle him," Flacco told [tight end...
Baltimore Ravens' quarterback Joe Flacco is floating on cloud nine right now after leading his team to a 34-31 win in Super Bowl XLVII and being named that game’s MVP. However quarterbacks of 31 other teams are not as happy because their season ended without the Lombardi Trophy. Some quarterbacks have more to prove than others and in this article I focus on five AFC quarterbacks...
Barring any shocking revelations that lead to some sort of scandal like Bounty-gate one year ago, the biggest story of the NFL offseason will probably be centered around just how much Joe Flacco ends up receiving in his new contract from the Baltimore Ravens. After all, Flacco just put together a historically great postseason run that led to the Ravens second Super Bowl title in...
BUY THE HYPE
Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs proclaimed himself a Colin Kaepernick believer after playing the 49ers QB in the Super Bowl.
The biggest buzz word in football the last couple years is “elite.” Michael Kay asked Eli Manning if he thought he was elite and Eli said “yeah, I do.” Then he went on to win the Super Bowl MVP for the second time. Right after that radio interview, Joe Flacco said that he was elite, too. Two years later he won his first Super Bowl and now many people want to say that Joe...
First off, Congratulations to the Baltimore Ravens for winning the Super Bowl. Once again the Super Bowl showed that truly any team can win the "big dance." Super Bowl MVP Joe Flacco had a plan to tackle San Francisco 49ers' Ted Ginn Jr. with 4 seconds left in the game if Ginn was about to score on the Baltimore Ravens free kick after taking a safety.
Historically, when we look back at the Baltimore Ravens triumphant march through the 2013 playoffs en route to their high drama victory over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII, we will make one important parallel with the franchise’s first and only other Super Bowl trip back in 2001 as follows: In each of four consecutive playoff games culminating with the grandest showcase...
