The Indianapolis Colts have decided to waive safety Joe Lefeged. Late Thursday night, Jim Irsay sent out a tweet that the Colts have released the 3 year veteran. Lefeged had been a special teams beast the year before, but has had no impact on the team this year. He also provided decent depth as a backup safety. Lefeged was arrested in the offseason in Washington DC for possesing an unregistered firearm. The Colts decided to stick with him at the time. Now they cut him.The Colts are relatively thin at safety. They have 4 safeties on the roster, which is a normal amount, but Laron Landry and Delano Howell are both injured and are questionable for the upcoming game against the Seahawks. It raises the question that something may have happened tonight that lead to his arrest. He left practice today with something non-injury related. We'll get you more on the situation when there's more information, but Joe Lefeged is no longer a Colt.
